This annoys me more than anything else in this world.

Absolutely every person on this planet is entitled to faith and i have no issue with this whatsoever. But faith is just that, I don't see why people see the need to try to prove their religion scientifically because it is an exercise in futility, by definition if nothing else. Faith is accepting something without proof, which all of you seem to fail to do.

I personally am non-religious but bear no stigma towards those who are not like-minded.

As a career scientist I must point out that one cannot pick and choose what scientific laws to use in a proof and disregard everything else.

There are so many things wrong with this proof that I really couldn't be bothered taking time out of my day to point as many out as possible.

But, on the assumption that the proof is correct (which it most definitely is not) let's take the Sun as being 500 miles away. At noon in Ethiopia along the equator the Sun is close to being directly overhead so let us assume that this is the point when the Sun is 500 miles away. In Brazil at this point in time it is sunrise. The two countries are separated by about 6100 miles. Using pythagarous theorem which is about as simple as we can get, this would mean the Sun is at this point over 6140miles away from Brazil.
Using the exact same logic as your pastor has used with a constant temperature gradient.... the temperature in brazil at sunrise would be -53,905K.

This result is obviously incorrect as it is impossible to have a temperature of less than 0K as it would result in negative pressure.

I don't think i'm exaggerating when i say there are probably over 100 different ways to prove the Sun is millions of km away. And thousands of ways to prove that it is most definitely not 500 miles away.

In short, I don't really care if you choose to not believe what I'm trying to explain here but please stop trying to use pseudo-science to prove your faith. Proof of faith is a contradiction in itself.

In short, I don't really care if you choose to not believe what I'm trying to explain here but please stop trying to use pseudo-science to prove your faith. Proof of faith is a contradiction in itself.

The contradiction is pouf positive that our geocentric earth position is the correction.It's logic.

Please consider theses points logically

• POINT 1 The all know all powerful being we call God makes no sense and contradicts all available information
• POINT 2 God says the earth is the center of the universe
• POINT 3 Earth centric universe makes no sense and contradicts all available information

CONCLUSION God is right and the earth is the center of the universe.

As an aside, many people have spoken about how scientists blindly believe what they are told about the Suns distance etc...

Well in essence the original proof has taken two pieces of information also blindly. Namely the temperature of the Sun worked out using Wiens displacement law (which is an approximation as the Sun is no a prefect radiator) and the temperature gradient of the troposphere. The second piece of information is an example of how science can be miscontrued without the use of referencing and is an example of why a peer-reviewed system is in place. A system which this proof would most definitely not pass.

As I'm sure you are all aware the troposphere is the lowest layer of the atmosphere. But is not the only layer. The other main layers are the stratosphere, the mesosphere and the thermosphere.
The 6K/km gradient which has been used as the basis of the entire proof has been implemented backwards. The temperature drops as height increases in the troposphere (this is why when you see people climbing mount everest they are not wearing shorts and a t-shirt).



This image shows how the temperature in the atmosphere changes with height and has been measured thoroughly. So not only has the gradient been used backwards...but you can also see that that particular gradient would only be in effect for the first 10km anyway until the tropopause is hit and we enter the stratosphere.

Honestly I don't know how to make it out more clear for you.

Try it this way; God exists beyond the laws of the universe we live in. Therefor God appears to us as illogical and contradictory. The same with God's creations.

You can't apply science to God.

I am not attempting to be preachy at all friend.

As you should've gathered from my post I have no issue with a persons faith! All 3 of your points are based on your faith and you are 100% entitled to believe them. My only issue was with the use of science to try to prove your faith correct.

I do not go around attempting to disprove the existence of god with science, nor do i believe anyone should. I hope that's not what this has come accross as, what i'm attempting to do is show that using pseudo-science to attempt to disprove science only serves to alienate religion.

Again, I have not posted here in an attempt to antagonise you are anyone else.

I have made no suggestions in any of my posts about anything other than the science being presented which was wrong. Just as you would be annoyed if somebody misquoted the bible as a theological debate.

You start by using science in order to prove a point and when your science is proven incorrect you fall into the cocoon of "it doesn't matter anyway because you can't apply science to god!"

This is incredibly aggravating, you are getting annoyed that scientist are trying to disprove the existence of god..... this isn't true they are trying to disprove your non-science. I do not care about your belief in god, I care that science is being misrepresented to people who don't know any better.... it's complete propaganda!!!!!! And the saddest thing is the people who actually understand the science and know they are wrong still choose to perpetuate it.

I found the diagram to be very interesting. I particularly like the meteor (the correct name is a Shooting Star). This is a star that has become dislodged from Gods firmament and drops due to intelligent pulling. On the scale it looks about 1 km across which is too big for a star, but its a nice detail. They normally fall apart in the atmosphere due to the coal breaking up.

Viewing through a special lens on my telescope I can say this; Satan is there. He is not alone he has two brothers with him, Mephisto and Baal are there. Every day they are growing stronger, they are causing these terrible events that seem to be happening with more frequency. Revelations shall be coming soon enough, although our great book does not tell us how to save ourselves from Mephisto or Baal. I believe that we can battle these two great evils with our wills. We must seek out the Stone's of Jordan (ancient Holy artifacts) and find out how to use them to destroy the prime evils. This is the only way to be saved. The Devil is not the only great evil of the sun his brothers are just as strong and our great book seemed to have forgotten to mention them but our faith can destroy them!

Most things you say aren't in the Bible. Additionally, it doesn't have anything to do with the sun. Are you on drugs?
