    You can't tell me that you never wondered how the gears in a car run or how an airplane stays in the air? Show some curiosity. Do you know how complex your circulatory system is? Why not show the LORD some respect and try to learn the TRUE wonders of what he has created. He gave us su much greatness to explore. Where in the bible does it tell us to be dumb and uneducated and stupid and die under a fence. Educate yourself, use that knowledge that god gave us, hidden in many puzzles that physics, math and chemistry have since uncovered.

    Enjoy the world.

    What if god asks for a math test if you want to enter heaven. (NOW don't blame me for this, but do you truly know what comes to you in heaven? Be prepared for everything, it can't hurt to know math.)
    At this point I think you might need to start looking at past threads here.

    The primary reason I am here doing research is because most in this this place have been home schooled because of their Christian beliefs. They also are products of inbreeding at minimally the 1st cousin level.

    These two facts are only the tip of the iceberg so to speak, but do lay the groundwork. All evangelical Christians regardless of denomination share many of the same characteristics as those here but that is more a subject for social psychologists. My primary area of interest is in genetics and the lack of DNA diversity within family groups. Baptists are a prime subject in this area.

      I have to go and get ready for Sunday evening church service now, but I'll take a look at it later this evening.
      OK, I'm back. I have reviewed your model and the problem I see with it is that it assumes heliocentricity, which I don't accept because it is unbiblical. The Bible says that the sun, moon, stars, and planets are all lights set into the firmament (Gen 1:14-19).

      If you can rework your model to fit the Biblical scenario where the Venus and the sun are set into a firmament and travel across the sky, then please do so. If not, I'm sure I can come up with something, but it might be a few weeks before I have time to do it.

      If you decide you would rather debate heliocentricity vs geocentricity, then we need a new thread because that would be off topic here.

      I see there have been many new responses, mostly from people who should have been sitting in church praising God instead of sniping at Him on the internet, so I'll read those posts now and and respond shortly.

        Did you not see where I have consistently correctly applied trigonometric functions throughout this thread? I even explained to our Belgian friend how to calculate the length of the hypotenuse of a right triangle given the length of the other two sides just a few hours ago.

        The sun is NEVER directly overhead above 23°26' N latitude, and Belgium is about on the 50° N latitude line. Your name looks French to me so I'm guessing you are probably a Walloon from southern Belgium, but you are still nowhere near anywhere where the sun will be directly overhead, especially this time of year, and ESPECIALLY at 8:46 PM local time.

        You can't tell whether the sun is directly overhead or at an angle, you can't even tell whether the sun is out or if it's nighttime, and you expect us to accept your ciphering? Do you know what the sun is? Would you recognize it if you saw it? It's kind of hard to miss. Maybe you are drinking too many of those Trappist beers y'all have over there.

        You said you knew the sun was directly overhead because there were no shadows. There were no shadows because it was nighttime, Nimrod.

        x = - 2461.5K

        How much is that in °C, because i have no idea if that is cold or not
        For one thing, the 288° K I cited at the beginning of the thread is an average global temperature over the whole year. That takes into account the Sahara Desert, the South Pole, and everything in between. It might be 325° K directly under the sun but 175° K at the fringes. You might have heard that it's hotter in the tropics than it is at the poles. That's why.

        For another thing, we have an atmosphere which regulates and smooths out the temperature gradients. That's why the temperature doesn't drop straight to 0° K the instant astronomical twilight ends. Maybe you've heard of it.

        Dayton, TN is considered Appalachia, isn't it? You might want to remember the old saying about glass houses and throwing stones.
