    Hey Mary
I disagree, as a geologist, I can put forward any hypothesis to be further explored, but my research has to conclude evidence of such event to prove the hypothesis, whether mathematically, or geologically.
Putting forward a theological hypothesis by a creationist has no less importance than a geological hypothesis, except that there can be found NO, empirical evidence that would support such a theory, therefore it is often dismissed. And rightly so, it would be a waste of manpower and money to forego geological research in mythical hypothesis with no evidence. And the Bible isn't evidence.

      Lk 19:37-40
      37 And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen;
38 Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.
39 And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples.
40 And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.

How does it account for water coming from a rock?

Ex 17:5-6 And the Lord said unto Moses, Go on before the people, and take with thee of the elders of Israel; and thy rod, wherewith thou smotest the river, take in thine hand, and go. Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Horeb; and thou shalt smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.

Clearly, there are many phenomena your "science" can't explain. The only reliable form of geology is Flood geology, because it proves the Biblical account of Noah's Flood.
Well there could be geological answeres to your questions
Talking rocks? With words? No, noises, grunts and screams? absolutely yes. We all know that Judea monotheistic religion started in and around the Middleeasr and the Caucuses where tectonic activity is higher, and with molten rock and moving rocks all around it becomes quite easy to assume these may be the noises heard and misinterpreted for audible communication

As for water coming from rock, that's surely basic knowledge, rocks are permeable, there are fresh water springs in the alps coming from rain which fell on the mountain a hundred years before, and then makes it's way through the rock and out the other side as fresh water springs.

      Both very logical hypothesis

But now you're trying to "demythologize" the Bible, providing a natural explanations for supernatural events. Science cannot explain how these processes could miraculously occur.

          Hey Pim
But supposed supernatural events are and have been disproved by better, researched, dicussed and proven methods all the time. If you can demythologise with researched, empirically evidential hypothesis, then you should. Medicine and technology wouldn't be where it is now if we didn't. I'm not saying that that's what happened I'm merely providing a non-theistic hypothesis to your question, I presume it's why you asked me?

            Hello Eddj87.

I took a rock from my yard and put it in a bench vise and put a bucket under the vise and then I closed the vise but there was no water in the bucket only smaller pieces of rock. I put the smaller pieces in a bag and crushed that with the vise but there was still no water in the bucket.

I thought maybe my vise might not be working so I put a mango in the vise and crushed it and that worked.

These are Florida rocks they might be different.

            Thank you.

A vise is a tool a real man has on hand for work. It looks like this:

I've never known Mr. Holbeck to argue, but the point he's making is an apt one. You suggest rocks act like sponges in the desert, soaking up water. Mr. Holbeck took some rocks from a region that has arguably more water than the rocks in the Middle East ever see, and tried to squish them in a vise, and found they don't, in fact, retain water. They crumble. I think your dismissal is rude, especially considering Mr. Holbeck is a simple-minded man who has been ignored by his family following a traumatic accident. Can't you show a little simple courtesy?

                    Hello Mary Etheldreda.

Thank you for explaining it better than I can I have some cognitive difficulties that means my thinking is not as fast as some people but I did think everyone knew what a vise was.

The funny thing is the rock I crushed was limestone and I will tell you two very important things about limestone:

                    1. Limestone is formed over many years by coral getting crushed in the ocean. Coral looks like a cross between a rock and a plant but it is an animal.

You would think that something that is formed in the ocean would be full of water but that is not true I tried it.

                    2. Limestone does not smell like limes. I have lime trees in my yard so I know what limes smell like. They should give limestone another name.

                    Hello Eddj87.

I apologize for presuming that you knew about tools.

                    Thank you.

Your mockery is childish, and your effective intelligence, sceptical. I again am not going to respond as your rock in vice anecdote has no basis at all anywhere and lacks basic common sense.

I am not trying to mock you I have something called neurocognitive deficit. I am not dumb things changed it is a long story I still know many words and I can remember many things.

Some things are easier to remember like how things smell and some things are harder to remember like numbers but I have Post-It Notes they have several colors.

If I could change the way I am I would but I have prayed about this and I have not changed so God wants me this way I am sorry it makes you mad. It seems that you are trying to make me feel bad but there is a Bible verse that I have marked it is Proverbs 25:26 it says:

A righteous man falling down before the wicked is as a troubled fountain, and a corrupt spring.

I am not a troubled fountain and I am not a corrupt spring.

                          I am righteous.

                          Thank you.

I'm not trying to change anyone's faith, that would be wrong of me, but I don't see why someone can't believe and worship God and also believe in the wonders of science. Science hasn't figured everything out yet, so although I don't believe in deities, it is completely understandable to do so in light of the gaps in science.
But science and it's related fields are so wonderful and amazing, and they don't necessarily negate the existence of God, in fact there are scientists that very religious as well.

After everything you've seen on this forum, how can you believe science and the Bible are compatible? We don't think they are. Why should you? Show us how they fit together. It can't be done. We have a choice: the Bible, or science. We choose the Bible because we know it's more reliable than science (1 Tim 6:20).
