Okay I will put this in very simple terms. You people take scripture turn it into what you want it to say. Then you go around condemning others for having different interpretations or beliefs. You say people are Damned to hell for saying the earth is flat. 0 times in the Bible does it make any reference to the shape of the earth. your "Four corners of the earth" passage was written by The Prophet Isaiah a man who probably had never been 100 miles from where he was born. He had never heard of Asia, Australia, Antarctica, North America, South America ect. He wrote it using terminology used 3000 years ago! And on top of that it has been translated, by man, hundreds of times before it became your beloved KJV bible.

My next point is discussing your war on science and forward thinking. You are fools if you believe that God is against technological advancements and scientific discovery. It is also foolish to believe that after Jesus left he wanted us to stay a stagnant culture and wait for him to come back. As we advanced we began to learn about the world and how it worked. With the knowledge and curiosity God bestowed on us, we discovered gravity, physics, electricity, how orbits work, and many other things that no writer of the bible had known about. We discovered and observed the effects of natural selection, how the body worked, how to help our sick. And we can use all of it to glorify him.

None of these things goes against the Bibles themes and lessons. What difference does it make that the earth is round and not the center of the universe? That just means that there is more to God's creation that here we can explore it now. Its actually pretty exiting to think about right? And guess what were not going to hell for it. In fact I think if Jesus was born in this era he would have been an astronaut, because astronauts and Jesus are pretty cool.

So in conclusion, believing the universe is much larger than what we previously believed is okay. And I can say that because without going to hell because the only way to heaven it through Him. And the Real Jesus ™ wouldn't condemn me for asking questions and learning while staying true to him. Thank you if you actually read this far.

Uh, you do realize that the Bible endorses slavery, genocide, murder, and rape?

thats largely taken out of context. And mostly from the Old Testament. The problem is that these guys stand on soapboxes and claim that they preach the teachings of Jesus. In reality they just spread messages of hate. While Jesus taught compassion and love.

That's simple enough, but not accurate. We read the Scripture as it is written in the Holy Bible. We do not turn it into what we want it to say. Do you really think I would want to kill my child if he were unrelentlessly disobedient as commanded by the LORD?

If a man have a stubborn and rebellious son, which will not obey the voice of his father, or the voice of his mother, and that, when they have chastened him, will not hearken unto them:

Then shall his father and his mother lay hold on him, and bring him out unto the elders of his city, and unto the gate of his place;

Seriously? Don't you think as a loving mother I'd rather find out if my child was disobedient because maybe he had a hearing problem and couldn't hear my voice and that's why he wouldn't obey? It is wrong to believe God made the universe in a way other than described by Him in Genesis because you're calling God a liar. He doesn't like that, and that pride will lead you straight to the very depths of Hell. I don't want that for you, Ben. Do you want that?

But I also don't believe you have to punish your children that brutally either. Sure, they should respect you and follow your rules but no child can learn from a mistake if they are dead and they will grow to resent you if you make life miserable. I hope you and your children have wonderful lives but do them a favor and let them understand the way the world actually works, but hey that's your call.

You have that so wrong friend. The Bible tells us all children are born full of sin. All sinners go to Hell to pay the price for sinning. A child that does not repent goes to Hell. There, they get to spend all of eternity learning from their mistakes. You do not think that is enough time? Pretty cruel and self centered attitude, friend.
