That's from A Briefer History Of Time by Stephen Hawking. He came to this conclusion using actual experimentation and investigation instead of reading a book and believing it blindly. I've seen a lot of Hawking's research into gravity and super gravity and it's airtight. Open your eyes to the world and not one book.

Observable data is the very cornerstone of science and indeed life, but we don't see mishmash, we see regularity.

To Ezekiel, what Newton's original quote was “What we know is a drop, what we don't know is an ocean.” This means that he understands that gravity exists and works, but he could not explain it. There is a difference between non-explainable and nonexistent.

And Donovan, if there is an anomaly that repeats itself so many times that it is the majority, then that means it is a correct result. That's called science, you should learn it sometime.

This is the dumbest thing I've ever seen. If you can quote the Bible as evidence because it's a book, then I use this:

I can't tell if you're serious, but i'm going to refute your argument anyway. Actually, that is not proof that the Earth is flat. The reason why people don't fall off at the south pole is because gravity doesn't pull/push down, that is merely humanity's delusion. What gravity really does is pull in ( towards the core) not down. In truth, there is no up or down, right or left, north or west; directions are another delusion of man. Proof that the earth is spherical is that on the Southern hemisphere the seasons are opposite to each other, this means that the Sun's rays are only on one hemisphere at a time. More proof is that the Sun can be up on one side of the Earth but not on the other. Plus, there is a wonderful experiment that called the Bedford Level Experiment ( don't give me Rowbotham's crap, he didn't account for refraction) that proved that the earth is spherical.

Sorry if my question has already been answered earlier in the thread, by the way. It currently totals 153 pages, and to find a good answer I'd have to sift through pages of the same arguments being brought up by new visitors (sorry if I'm contributing to that).
