Take a room. Take a light bulb. Now move the lightbulb across the room. If you look around you will notice it is lighter close to the light bulb than far away from it. The Sun works the same way. It's amazingly easy to understand actually.

Please note this will only work if the light bulb is on and no other light sources are available.

Not true because the earth is flat right. So that direct line of site over the horizon applies to the whole world. If it disappears over the horizon, that means that it disappears for the whole world over the horizon

Also that diagram from a couple pages back is still completely wrong. Timezone occur vertically with respect to the earth (more or less) , which means if it's day for you, everyone below you (once again more or less) geographically must also be during the day. So the sun can't be moving around like it is there, it needs to be sweeping the world horizontally for that diagram to be even remotely correct / aligned with your theories

Why do you not understand timezones. Look at this webpage. It shows the different times around the world. If the sun was not moving around the earth, then we would not need to have different timezones. If you look at the page, you will see some place it says Friday while others are Saturday.

The sun moves around the earth, simple!

Hmm sorry, I should have been more specific, please explain the mechanism by which God has some kind of involvement with the sun, what mechanism does God use to create/control the sun, how do we know this? etc etc

Why do you not understand timezones. Look at this webpage. It shows the different times around the world. If the sun was not moving around the earth, then we would not need to have different timezones. If you look at the page, you will see some place it says Friday while others are Saturday.

Look, it is really simply. The earth is flat, the sun moves around the earth giving light to one part and darkness everywhere else.

The reason why the sun looks like it disappearing is because as things get further away, the closer together they look. Just like looking down train tracks. The tracks merge together.

How much more simpler can I make it.

The light from the sun moving away from the illuminated portion of the earth causes the sunsets.

Notice how at this distance not much light reaches the photographer, and is additionally getting blocked out by that hill. It will soon be night here - and don't forget that God also makes darkness: it is not just an absence of light!

Psalm 104:20 Thou makest darkness, and it is night: wherein all the beasts of the forest do creep forth.

In this photo the sun is distant, but in another timezone - the one we are looking towards - the sun will be passing overhead. At the end of the day the sun will hurry back to where it rises, and prepare for the next day.

Ecclesiastes 1:5 The sun also ariseth, and the sun goeth down, and hasteth to his place where he arose.

You seem to be forgetting that God actually made the sun, and knows everything about it. He has told us about the world He has made. Sometines he moves the sun backwards and forwards in a different pattern:

Isaiah 38
7 And this shall be a sign unto thee from the LORD, that the LORD will do this thing that he hath spoken;
8 Behold, I will bring again the shadow of the degrees, which is gone down in the sun dial of Ahaz, ten degrees backward. So the sun returned ten degrees, by which degrees it was gone down.

He told Isaiah the prophet and Hezekiah the king that He was going to move the sun 10º and then moved it 10º.

That's our God!

The appearance presented to him, even at the highest elevation he has ever attained, is that of a concave surface - this being exactly what is to be expected of a surface that is truly level, since it is the nature of level surfaces to appear to rise to a level with the eye of the observer. Of course the sun does not get smaller, just like the train does not either. As the sun moves away it looks smaller, just like tall buildings far away.

As I said before, the sun does not move below the horizon, it moves to a different place on the earth.

If the sun were to go below the horizon then it would be going into a big hole in the earth. Have you ever seen the hole the sun goes into.

Hello dear. It appears your confusion regarding this matter hinges upon your failure to understand God's Own Vanishing Point. The world, indeed the entire universe, is His canvas, and He is The Artist.

Allow me to further explain: MitzaLizalor said "[...] God also makes darkness: it is not just an absence of light!" Every day The LORD selects a vanishing point upon the horizon to 'disappear' the sun, so to speak. He gradually removes it's light, and fills in the spaces with darkness. Sometimes He adds a splash of lovely colours here and there to amuse Himself, thereby creating a glorious sunset.
