Not quite. The theory of gravity holds that bodies of mass attract one another. And as the formula of this theory clearly shows, the attractive force is not determined by the ratio, but by the product.

There is a difference between mass and weight. Weight is the amount of force that gravity exerts on you, given your mass. Mass is just simply the amount of matter that is occupied by an object. The earth has no weight, and but it sure has a mass.

Didn't I say according to spherical earth theory everything in space has no weight. So why are arguing the same thing.

You're clearly not listening to the scale in which the mass has to actually be to make a difference. A "heavy" ball is not heavy in the slightest when comparing the mass of the earth to the mass of a human. As the person you originally quoted gave you a ratio, of the MASS of a person to the MASS of the earth. The ratio of that in comparison to the ratio of a balloon to a piece of paper isn't even CLOSE... For someone who enjoys telling people to read the whole thread, you should learn the actual theories that you're trying to disprove.

This is just a spherical earth theory and does not prove anything.

For someone who tells me I am not listening, you sure did miss a lot of facts in this thread.

Commenting on the opening post, I tried them all out.
When jumping as high as I could, I indeed landed on the spot I jumped off from.
Trying the balloon test together with my children, the paper indeed fell off.
Now what confuses me is the following:
Yesterday I went on a very high building in the morning together with my husband and we were able to look very far indeed, much further than from the ground. But today in the afternoon, we went on a mountain far away from the building and looked around again. Now, we saw the building but we would not see the farmlands somewhere behind it that were originally on the horizon, instead we could see other farmlands on the other side of the mountain near the horizon.
How come?

Perhaps the mountain was blocking view.

Tossing some real answers out there..

1) Jump!
...
If you jump while standing on the ground, you fall straight down. When you jump inside of a moving train, you fall straight down. If you jump on the outside of a moving truck, the air flow will force your body to slow down in speed, and so you will fall off.

Say you run 15km/h on the ground. Say you run the same speed inside of a moving train going at 200km/h. Then you are running 15km/h compared to the train, but 215km/h compared to the ground.

Say you drop a man with a parachute and a golfball from a roof. The ball obviously hits the ground first, because the air flows around it but can't get a grip on the ball. The air can get a grip on the parachute though, and forces the man to slow down. If the air didn't work like this, we wouldn't be able to use a parachute, and birds wouldn't be able to fly.

2) Blow!
Gravity can be checked by using this tiny formula taught in high-school physics: F = ((m1*m2)/r^2)*G
F = Force, m1 = mass for one body, m2 = mass for the other body, r = Distance, G = Gravitational constant (6,6742 ± 0,0007) × 10-11 N·m²/kg²)

So feel free to calculate how much the earth weighs, it's not that hard. I did it when I was 16.

If you want to become logical, prove it with maths. If you don't believe in this, then stop using your computer, because that's what it's made out of.

(Yes, using a computer would in that case be a sin against God. Throw your computer away if you don't want to live like a sinner.)

3) Get High!

This is perhaps the most funny one. Standing on a very tall building sounds like great fun, but we have technology now. What if you sent a camera up into space or something?

I don't think you need to read through 344 pages to realize that it's a stupid question. Why couldn't the USA and Japan fight on flat earth? They're on the same plane as us. It's like walking across the room to punch somebody in the face. You don't need a spherical room to do that.

Well it was not to hard. The japs where bombing England and declared war agianst the US of A when Germany bombed Pearl Harbor so we fought them. What does that have to do with the world being flat?

I'm sorry if I offended you in anyway, this conversion from atheism to Christianity has been a confusing one for me, some answers explained before by Science are a little confusing. If you grow up with something it's kind of hard to change in an instant.
