Oh sweet lord where do I begin.

By not being a Blasphemer and taking the Lord's name in vain? Reading the Good Book from cover to cover? Taking time to read the rules of the forum and introducing yourself before mocking our Lord and his glorious works?

Ok, Im going to explain to you the opposing argument. If your true christians and decent people you will actually try and listen to this post, and try and argue me back with logic. I stess the logic part of that statement.

Stess all you want - not much logic being shown though - not one quote from scriptures to back up a single thing you have said.

1)Have you tried jumping on a bus? The fact is that you DONT go flying to the back of the bus because you are moving at the SAME speed as the bus. There is no opposing force to slow you down "object in motion wants to stay in motion" Same theory applies to your argument, we travel at the same speed as the earth so there, science for the win here

Nope - you have used a false premise to try and "prove" you point. We have already shown numerous times earlier on in the thread that the earth is stationary. Therefore the rest of your point is moot.

2)The gravity issue. There are countless proofs of gases in the universe being acted upon by a unseen force, a force that always causes these gases to gravitate towards a large mass. Not to mention that fact that most of the modern day miracles are accomplished off of the very principles you are saying dont exist. The fact is its here, its proven. So win 2 for science

Nope - If we are whooshing through space super fast so you state then why isn't all the gases just blown away? Fail!

3)This I thought was so simple I almost didnt want to insult you with a answer. Have you ever googled the circumference of the earth??? Its LOOONNNNGGGGGG Its so long in fact that the curvature is not visible to the human eye. And what do you make of the images recieved from telescopes of other planets????? Also the fact that this theory of a flat earth was dis proven with Columbus????? Im not going to expand on this cause it hurts that ppl actually believe this.

I have yet to see a single photo showing a 3D spherical earth...all the photos I have seen are 2D...flat like the good ladies of Freehold's pies. Your not going to expand on it anymore because you can't. Win for God!

All of this being said, I respect christians and their beliefs. But the bible isnt ment to be taken LITERALLY in every sense. Most main stream denominations accept and believe in the things you are saying are not real. In fact the late pope even accepted the fact that evolution is plausable as long as you accept the fact that the divine imbued the body with a spirit. Dont believe me, google vatican records on this. I have done a university report on this, so don't say I'm lying because Im not.

If you have questions about anything else related to science please feel free to ask and not just stick your heads in the sand and sing LALALALALA. I will help to alleviate your confusion. It is possible to believe in both here people, join the world of 2011

Fact 1) Lets say for example your driving in your car, and you throw your hat in the air. Does it fly to the backseat? No. That's because your hat is moving at the same speed as the car. Your flat bed example is flawed because its the air pressure and wind that causes you to fly back.

Fact 2) I'm only going to ask this one question. If I jump into the air, why don't I fly away? I think the answer is gravity, but I'm just not that sure

Fact 3) I like how everyone chose to ignore the fact that I mentioned there are telescopes, satellite imaging, and people seeing it with there eyes that the earth is round.

I ask this in all seriousness, can anyone of you prove any of this wrong without quoting the bible.

Her is what I think. I seriously believe that many or all of you have suffered in your life. Maybe you lost a wife or a husband. Maybe your child died. Perhaps you were raped or hurt somehow.

I think that this blind faith in a book is your way of coping with a world that seems to hard and too complex for you to handle or understand. You go to your safety net and hold on so tight that your blind to the gift of the world around you. God created an amazing world, yet your blind to the complexity in which he created it.

Its time to open your eyes and stop using religion as a shield against the unknown, as a weapon of hate, but rater as a way to see the universe as something so much more. You really can have both here everyone.

I hate the way people take something pure, something that should be used in peace and understanding, and you take it, you warp it, and you twist into a weapon of your own personal hate. This is NOT a christian fourm, this is a hate site, dedicated to spreading filth.

When a father sits down with his child and reads him a story book, lets say Dr Seuss, The child knows that the story isn't 100% true, but there is a moral rooted in the story, and that is what the child takes away

The bible is much in the same. God, our father read to us a book, and we were supposed to take away the good from the book. But you, you all have taken the scripts that could be easily misinterpreted and twisted into a sword of hate and a shield of ignorance

The fact of the matter is, your really insulting this creation of god, if he so happened to make it. The laws of physics, chemistry, biology, are really testament to the complexity of this system, yet you wont accept it cause its not written in black and white

Show me one quote on the thread where someone has changed what they have posted from scriptures and where it differs from the KJV please.

If the child doesn't believe something the father tells him then that's pretty poor parenting....even heathens should know the simple "honour thy father and mother" (misquoting for effect Brothers and Sisters) ....if the child questions this then it should be disciplined.

You still haven't explained to anyone why you hate God so much that you can't accept his words and let his light into your life.

OK You ARE talking about the Bible but you make another logical flaw. You say "we were supposed to take away the good from the book." I like how you used to accuse of of logical fallacies and then you make THIS one. The whole book IS good. I assume since you believe that God wrote the Bible you agree that everything in it is good, right?

We do NOT interpret Scripture. God tells us NOT to do that:

2 Peter 1:20-21
Knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.

We read the Bible and, unless it is clearly labeled as a parable, we take the words at their plain meaning. Do you thinking God would make SOME parts of the Bible "symbolic" and some parts literal without telling how to tell the difference? What sort of Loving God would do THAT?

I suspect that if you reach down inside yourself, you will admit that what you are really saying is something like "I want to follow all the parts of the Bible that I personally find appealing, but I want to pretend like all the parts I personally don't like or find morally objectionable don't exist so I can still feel good about being a Christian."

Am I close? Does it touch on the Truth a bit? Well if you believe in the Bible you have to believe ALL of it or NONE of it. I think it is obvious which you should choose. Don't you?

How about you stop calling yourself a Christian and call yourself what you really are: Someone who thinks their own personal morality is better than God's as described throughout the Bible. When you pick and choose what is right and wrong in the Bible, you are using something from OUTSIDE the Bible to judge what is right and wrong IN the Bible. Where do you think that "something from outside the Bible" comes from? What do you think it is?

So I ask you honest questions and you run away and hide without answering them. Did I touch a nerve? Can you cite ONE place where we have misquoted the Bible? ONE place where we have "interpreted" the Bible? If you can't then you know that what I wrote in my previous post is true.
