On a technically Yes and No. Because matter cannot be created or destroyed. Yes, But then how is there still enough water for us to drink is we drink it? We pee, simple as that. As human we are like a giant bucket. Water bucket. We are thirty therefore we drink, but if we drink to much, then the water will spill out the bucket no? Therefore we poke a little hole in our buckets, or pee.

But I see what your saying, and yes. in your sense, Earth is a closed system. Everything just gets recycled and used again.

Otherwise, No it is not a closed ended system because Aliens or Ourselves can bring resources to the planet and gain more.
