I actually HAVE jumped up and down on the back of a truck going at 60mph (what can i say i was bored :p) and i can assure you i landed in the same space from when i jumped

Also engines do run in a vacuum, thus rockets.

Did you jump very high? I doubt it. BTW you said 75mph before.

Did you just notice that you compared apples and oranges? Internal combustion engines need to breathe air, rockets do not. Try blocking the air intake on your car engine.

I said 75mph as that was originally posted, however i tried it at 60, i doubt it makes much difference. as to the height i jumped, it was probably about a meter. True if i'd jumped higher i would have moved due to air resistance, i'll give you that

The make of the engine isn't relevant, as long as the vehicle is moving lol. If i tried the experiment in a vacuum, i would keep moving away from the vehicle but i would stay level with the place a jumped from.

Also, i'm NOT trying to blind you with science. What i've said shouldn't even be up for debate, it is true and can be proven to be true.

God gave us free will so surely it was his intention for us to not blindly follow his teachings, are we not supposed to interpret things in our own unique ways?

Let's see science tackle these arguments!

Well, I have a little science to share. While I don't really understand the logic or science behind the second and third experiment, I have a little way we can really do number 1. You see, you said if you were in the back of a truck going 75 miles and hour, and you jumped, you would fall out. Now I DOUBT that anyone will want to try that. So lets try a bus. You are in a bus, going at a speed of 60 miles and hour. By your logic, if you jumped, while the bus was moving, and you were in the pathway, you'd fly to the back! Luckily, this is not the case. If you jump, you will stay in place. Well now, that doesn't make much sense, does it? But it does! The idea behind it is, you are on a bus going 60 miles an hour. If the bus is going 60, and you are on it, that means you are technically traveling at 60 miles an hour, just as an object itself. So when you jump, you don't fly to the back because the bus and you are at the same speed; you keep up with each other. So back to the original experiment, "jump", you don't go flying because you are going at the same speed as the earth. Unfortunately science takes the win points here boys, indisputable that the earth is not in fact fixed in place.

While the balloon is larger than the specks of paper, it does not have nearly as much mass as Earth does compared to a human. If you were to use a bowling ball to represent Earth and a piece of paper to represent humans, they would stick in space. But not on Earth, as Earth's gravity is dwarfing that of a balloon or a bowling ball. This experiment can only be tested in the confines of space.

You would need to be far enough away from any large objects such as planets or alien spaceships so that the bowling ball's relative gravity was stronger than theirs.

Do you think we True Christians(tm) will believe anything, just because we have faith in Jesus' temporary sacrifice? If so you are mistaken. We are just as skeptical as everyone else when it comes to most things. It is only on the subject of Christianity that we apply faith.

Why would I bother to link to a scholarly website? Any credible, objective website would be immediately shunned by the True Christians on this website for being realistic. The lack of clear minded people on this website is astounding.

There is likely to be a scientific explanation behind everything in the bible, but this doesn't mean it isn't powered by God.
We were given the creativity to understand and explore the scientific world, why would he have done that if it was all a lie?

You are all in a severe minority with your beliefs, what makes you think you are right when so many others believe different things just as passionately?

and 'because it says so in the bible' is not an answer. No, i can't prove what it says in the bible to be wrong, but neither can you prove it is right therefore using its content as fact is fundamentally wrong
