Hi all,Well I have come here because I stumbled upon this thread awhile back and there are some genuine questions I would like to ask,regarding the the beliefs that the earth is flat.This kind of stuck with me,i myself believe it is indeed a sphere.

I would like to ask this: Why can you not believe the same "skeptical, close-minded types" that have worked tirelessly so you can do such simple things as watch a television, use a computer,drive a car, surely if you can accept that these things can be done you can accept that the earth is a sphere that rotates?? Ok, they are not mentioned in the bible but here you are reading this very post. To even use the term ".....of a truck going 75 mph" implies that modern physics has been accepted as a science..thus if this statement is indeed fact then so much be the fact the earth is a sphere.

Is this a case of "well ok,we accept science and those things you mentioned above,so prove it more and show us the world is a sphere"?? Well my answer to that is, I myself cannot prove that but i believe it...the VERY same way WE believe in the bible, can you really not see how people might call you close minded types for not believing the fact that the earth is indeed a sphere. dont sit there and say "its in the bible so im gonna write that idea off straight away" while at the sametime accept things you use in your every day life that is a result of hard working scientists which have obviously proven many things as FACT.

This is why I believe the argument for a flat earth is totally false.Thank for reading, as I mentioned im just trying to understand further where this argument.

Forgive me, I don't have the time to read over 700 pages, so my question may have been addressed already.

If the Earth is flat, how come if you start traveling (for example) from Miami, Florida in a plane directly west, you will end up back in Miami, Florida? If the Earth was flat, it would have to end somewhere right? So why won't a plane just stop? How can it make it back to Miami without changing direction at all?

Your question has been answered many times before.

Here is more evidence for you. Giving your example of a plane travelling in a straight line, if the Earth was curved then the plane would fly off on a vector into space. The pilot would have to keep steering the plane down to follow the curve of the Earth. He does not need to do this therefore the Earth is flat.
