Well for the millionth time on this thread, I will point out that I have lived on the west coast, and I have never, NEVER, NEVER, seen a ship disappear over the horizon, they disappear into the mist that seems to hang constantly over the ocean.

But hey, since that's not what it says in their science books, they'll just ignore it yet again.

Of course you haven't seen it, you said yourself the mist blocks the view. It doesn't happen in a few minutes, the ship has to be about 11 miles away (depending on the size of the ship) for this to occur. You also obviously need clear viewing conditions, and an attention span that lasts longer the 5 minutes.

But hey, since the bible doesn't say "and god made the earth a sphere" they'll just ignore it yet again

God, in His Inifinite Care, gave each heavenly body its own character that we might marvel at His Awesome Power.

Along with the fact that when we observe the orbit of Mars, it appears to move backwards in mid november until the end of January, where it goes back to its original path.
