In the case of the truck, you're jumping into air that's moving with the earth. The air resists your velocity to bring you to earth's velocity.

If you did this experiment in space, you would continue in the direction of the truck, at the same speed as the truck.

I've been making bread and there was something on about The Bible. They said that when Isaiah described a "circle" he used that word because he didn't have a word for "sphere" and straight on with some examples:

Did God have words to describe spherical objects? Well this is where context is so important. I read all of Isaiah and right there, FROM THE SAME AUTHOR writing in the same language and addressing the same audience, right there in chapter twenty-two we have:

17 Behold, the LORD will carry thee away with a mighty captivity, and will surely cover thee.
18 He will surely violently turn and toss thee like a BALL into a large country: there shalt thou die, and there the chariots of thy glory shall be the shame of thy lord' house.
19 And I will drive thee from thy station, and from thy state shall he pull thee down.

Do these freaks just say whatever comes into their head without looking anything up? When they say Oh, that language didn't have a word for ball-shaped what expertise do they have in the language? None. We know that because there is a word for ball and the author used it when he meant ball..

The earth was described using a different word because the earth is not ball-shaped.

We have spent a lot of time and effort compiling these 514 pages of compelling proof that the earth is flat. Maybe if YOU took the time to read everything instead of skimming YOU might find that you my dear little friend of the halva munching variety are wrong.

Thank you for your effort to share your insights with us regarding your perspective of a flat Earth. Please allow me to share mine....


1) Jump!


As you noted, scientists claim that the Earth is rotating at 700-1000 miles per hour depending on your latitude. You therefore suggest jumping to demonstrate that this is not true. Unfortunately, that doesn't test the claim since everything on Earth is rotating at that speed (give or take). This includes you.


So when you jump up and the Earth is rotating at 700-1000 miles per hour so are you. Relative to the surface of the Earth however you are not moving. Relative to you - the Earth is not moving. The Earth is moving only in relation to its own axis.


You noted a flat bed experiment that if you were on the flat bed of a truck traveling at 75 mph and you jump straight up, you note that you would not land in the same spot. Well actually, that depends. If you were inside the trailer of a transport truck traveling at 75 mph, you would in fact land in the same spot. The difference being that on a flat bed truck, you would be experiencing a wind against you at about 75 mph (provided its calm weather). Inside the trailer of a transport truck, you would not experience wind and would therefore drop right where you jumped from


2) Blow!


I am not sure why you titled this section 'blow' but the idea here is that people on the bottom side of the spherical Earth will fall off. But why would they fall off? What force or influence would cause them to go 'down'?
If you stop for a moment and ask what direction an Australian would call down in a spherical Earth model, you would see that down for them is pointing at the center of the Earth - the same is true for us of course.
Gravity is not a theory - it is a fact and you can even do an experiment in your own home to see it. There are many articles online that show you how, but I prefer a much nicer demonstration than the simple ones we can do at home: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E43-CfukEgs


I know some people suggest we are held to the ground by buoyancy for example but this experiment clearly shows that's not it.


In this experiment, scientists use a vacuum chamber and drop a feather and a large weight inside a vacuum and the feather falls just as fast as the weight. You can do this at home too but since we can't create a proper vacuum to test in, we need to use two objects of the same size and shape but with different weights. They will fall at the same rate.


Your balloon experiment is very insightful but you forgot to take into account that the absolutely MASSIVE Earth is below our would be balloon test. Should we really expect a balloon to exert more gravity on the piece of paper than the whole Earth does? If you did the experiment in deep space, it might actually work - but I'm not doing that test anytime soon.


3) Get High!


Nice idea but still rather flawed. If I go up some elevation, even on a curved Earth, I should still expect to see further. But since you brought this idea up, a really cool demonstration of the curved Earth is what was one of the first demonstrations of a curved Earth.


Ancient mariners observed long ago that when sailing ships sailed out to sea, the eventually disappear entirely. They don't disappear suddenly either but actually begin to disappear from the bottom. This is because the Earth is curved and the part of sailing ship we lose sight of first is the bottom.


I was going to provide a link to YouTube where you can see many first hand recordings of this behavior along with some good narration and explanation but I'll leave that to you if you care to learn more. Be careful though, you do need to be careful as there are lots of amateurs making big mistakes when doing these tests.


If you are interested, I would be more than happy to discuss these points in greater detail.

I put some thought into it, included visual examples supported by Scripture and then a.lyin'.kid turned up offering nothing more than one bald contradiction, a couple of insults and a pyromaniacal desire for conflagration of Bibles. Hardly an "argument" as I'm sure you'll agree. I referred kid to my post, which must have been on the same page even if he was viewing 5-posts-per-page but no response was forthcoming. It makes me feel as though the effort I put into my post was wasted and I can see you've spent at least a couple of minutes typing out your opinion, which I'm responding to, so am hopeful that if you link to my earlier post by clicking the ball [RIGHT] you will be able to cover the point I raised.

Speaking of feet, Brother Creeser, that reminds me of an observation I made to validate the flatness of our Earth. In my youth, I often walked about barefoot, and the soles of my feet are TOTALLY FLAT! Anyone can check them, from the toes to heel, they are as smooth as the President of Turkey's speech to conscript little girls.
