You know, I have read a lot of atheist nonsense on the internets. However, I must give credit where credit is due; there is something Godly to be said for biological determinism, especially as it relates to the place of women in the LORD's scheme.
It gladdens my heart that, when lurking upon atheist forums, I see biological determinism put forward as a reason why men rape. It is gently suggested that it is the woman's lot to prevent rape by not being too free in her choices - that is, not act as if she has the right to the same freedoms as men, and limit herself and her actions accordingly. It's for her own good, after all!
So here's a short yet complete list of rape prevention tips: 1. Dress modestly. No modestly-dressed woman has EVER been raped in the history of the universe. 2. Do not drink, because no sober woman has ever been abused. 3. Never leave the house, because all rapes occur at night in dark alleys. 4. Do not start 'something' with a man, and then change your tiny mind (due to discomfort or whatever) and withdraw consent (because men cannot stop themselves once aroused: even if their leg is on fire and they are being attacked by pit bulls. Please forgive my language, but there is no state of emergency as great as a man needing to, ahem, 'ejaculate'. And men have been known to die when denied said ejaculation into an ejaculation vessel, i.e., a woman. I'm reasonably sure some scientists did a scientifical study about it).
Women can also prevent rape by fighting back ... except in those cases where fighting back angers the rapist, and he maims or kills the victim. However, if one does not fight back, the police and courts will question why, and it will appear that you wanted it. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. We ladies must choose our battles carefully, and ensure our hymens are intact prior to rape (raped virgins are a court favourite, raped prostitutes not so much).
Anyway, I have seen 'biological determinism' bandied about by some male atheists as an excuse for rape. I truly believe these same men would make marvellous Christians, seeing as they already intuit that violence against women is 'just the way things are': men are the default human after all, and women are ... well, nearly human but not quite. We bleed a lot, and generally have a lower centre of gravity. It all boils down to this: Adam was born directly of God and breath, Eve merely cobbled together from Adam's rib.
This select group of pre-Christian male atheists are all for women preventing rape, but they don't ever suggest that men work to prevent rape - because in their pre-GODLY minds, rape prevention is not the responsibility of men - it is women who need to take greater care, amen. Only women can prevent rape by not being rapeable, and that is all there is to it really.
I truly see biological determinism as supportive of GODLY relations between the sexes. Glory!
