Atheists are so incredibly disgusting. If you are proposing that all water is recycled, and that life has existed for millions of years, that would mean that we are in fact drinking pee and sweat of the dinosaurs let me tell you: I am drinking my Nestle bottled water right now (because I love bisphenol and I love supporting Godly water corporations), and it does NOT taste like pee!

I would like to tell you about the water cycle.
Basically, water evaporates from the ocean (water vapour is completely clean), rises up into the sky to form clouds, the clouds drift away, then it rains at the top of mountains when they get too much water. That water flows down the mountain in rivers, back into the ocean.
When we pee and stuff, water corporations clean and sterilize the water that's going back into the ocean in order not to harm the ocean dwellers.
Your bottle water comes from the river (no pee). The water corporations take the water from the rivers, clean it, distill it, then bottle it up. So of course it wouldn't taste like pee! Who would want you to drink pee?

Exactly, except these are waste treatment facilities, not connected to large water corporations. In any case, it is a relatively new development. The reason why cities create such waste treatment facilities is because releasing pee and poop directly to the rivers is just nasty and leads to many diseases.

We don't use the water up. We just take it in, let it absorb all the wastes that our body doesn't need (that plants and other water-dwellers do need), then push it all back out! It's just like a loop, except a tad more gross!

No. There's this thing called 'sedimentation' and 'distillation'.
'Sedimentation' means that the heavy wastes and dirt all sink to the bottom of the 'tank', that is, the ocean floor. Since the ocean floor is dirt itself, the wastes become part of the dirt. In fact, this acts as fertilizer for seaweed to grow. If they didn't pee or poop into the water, then they peed and pooped on the ground, which is dirt itself, again acting as fertilizer, this time for trees and stuff.
'Distillation' is based on the fact that when water evaporates, the water vapour is pretty much 100% pure water. So the water evaporates into the air, forms into clouds, the rains back down on top of mountains. That water will form a river and flow back down the mountains. That's where we get our drinking water, and that's where dinosaurs got their drinking water.
However, our modern wastes contain oil and other contamination that doesn't work with sedimentation, so sewage treatment facilities were built to ensure the safety of ocean animals. But then, some stupid asshole factory owner would direct their sewage into rivers just to avoid sewage treatment costs, so we have other water treatment facilities to get our 'drinking water' drinkable again.

Actually, most sewage treatment facilities, even in developed countries, are designed to treat only human waste and soap - most water treatment facilities are secondary with nutrient removal. Only a few are advanced tertiary (which involves removal of chemicals such as heavy metals and stuff - and it's very expensive). For your information, that's why you shouldn't throw stuff such as old medicines into the toilet - the secondary waste water treatment facility in your city/town/village isn't designed to handle these chemicals.

Since the waste treatment happens in man made facilities, and we both agree that there were no such facilities when dinosaurs were on earth (whether that would be 65 million or a few thousand years ago), your point is -

I know what you mean. These are cherry-picking Christians, who chose which parts of the Bible to accept, and which not to accept. There is, however, a serious flaw in their logic. To be a Christian means to accept the Bible as true - all of it. You cannot just chose some selected passages that support your world view, while creatively interpreting others and rejecting the rest. You either accept the entire Bible as the Word of God or you don't. Hence, these people who say that evolution is the way how God created life etc, they are NOT real Christians.

The idea that a person can be both a Christian and a secular scientist (that is what you are talking about, after all), is no more to the point than saying a priest can be a catholic and pedophile. In other words, who cares what two incongruent beliefs one person holds? In what way does that speak to the credibility of the belief?

The reality is, one either trusts God's Word to be true and free from error, or does not. There is no middle ground.

I think the post was meant to prove atheism wrong, and I'm glad it was posted. Atheism is false, and people are just running away from the fact the God is real.

We don't need the Bible to tell us God is real. Look around you: the trees, the water, the sky, all these are proofs that God left behind for us.

God made the water cycle, and He doesn't need to show himself to let us know He's maintaining it.

You know, I don't even think it needs its maintenance. Take the sealed bottle garden for example. It is a garden in a bottle, sealed tightly, and only watered once, and it survives on its own water cycle (google it).

I think that's what God also did. He only made us once, so that means (like the bottled garden, metaphorically speaking) He watered us once, giving us what we needed to survive on our own.

Thank God, and I hope atheists can find their way to Him.

P.S., to be honest, what confused me the most in the first post is that the Bible said, "the world is 6000 years old."

I don't think so. I am a young Christian, and yes, I do read the Bible. But I've never stumbled upon the world's age. Anyone?

The genealogy of Christ is given to show us exactly how old the world was when He lived. Since God also created fifth grade math for us to learn at home between Bible lessons, His word is most clear as to the age of the universe.

You're not suggesting that the Bible is wrong or inconsistent about the historicity of our sweet Lord, are you friend? Many people have taken such an erroneous position on our forums to justify barbarous acts of sodomy and even mixed fiber wearing. I'm not saying you are doing that, but it happens.
