    Re: Checkmate, Atheists

I'm not sure to what extent Jizzya promotes extortion rackets or whether Samuel would be of any interest and without any idea of what shape's being claimed for the earth in post #42 about the best I can do is cite Samuel's statement:
I Samuel 2:7-9 The LORD maketh poor, and maketh rich: he bringeth low, and lifteth up. He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the LORD'S, and he hath set the world upon them. He will keep the feet of his saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness; for by strength shall no man prevail.

It is clear from that that one's circumstances, however vile, can indeed change. Every baby is born vile. Brim-full of sin and deserving of perpetual torture.

Clearly the fact that anyone makes it into Paradise at all demonstrates "once a sinner" does not mean "always a sinner" and we know from the historical record that at least one person made it!
Luke 23:39-44 And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us. But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss. And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise. And it was about the sixth hour, and there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour.

Unless you're suggesting there's nothing historical in The New Testament? That would go along with your Old Testament views concerning plate tectonics as proposed by secular geologists. Subterranean activity of that type would really mess up the pillars.

Extraterrestrials being real sounds cool and scary. I doubt they exist. The bible dose not talk about extraterrestrials. I do think dragons and dinosaurs are the same thing, They are both reptiles. I don't think cavemen ever existed because that's a blasphemous way of thinking.

If plate tectonics really were a thing that God made use of, don't you think that He would have told us about it in the Bible? Why would He keep something like that from us? It's not like God wants to keep us in the dark.

You need to think more carefully about this before talking nonsense. If God wants to bless us with an earthquake, He doesn't need some absurd made-up pseudoscience to create one. Creating is what He does, what with Him being The Creator of everything.

Earthquakes are explained in the Holy Bible - and it's not plate tectonics, it's pillar tectonics:

Sooo. . . You think that parts of the Bible are unrealistic nonsense?

Which parts? The parts that say that the Bible is God's True Word that never changes and endures forever? Or maybe you don't believe the parts that tell people not to add, delete or doubt the words of the Bible.

Do you think that the parts of the Bible that tell us that God exists are unrealistic nonsense? Because if God doesn't exist who wrote the Bible--both the parts that you do and do not believe?

This is great. So you don't think that any part of the Bible is unrealistic nonsense, which means you believe it all and agree with it. And you admit that there are aspects of scientific inquiry that are unrealistic nonsense.

By your stated reasoning, anything in science that disputes any part of the Bible is wrong. Frankly, given how much stuff out there in the science community is in opposition to information in the Bible, that particular community doesn't seem very reliable at all.

Why would you trust them on such a profound subject as to how the world was created and functions as a geologic entity? If I were you,

But the verse itself states the cause of the earthquake: the angel of the Lord. Are you suggesting the Angel erupted up from Hades? Or that the Angel is a tectonic plate? How would that sit on the stone?

                        .
Earlier this year, a Yale group conducted a study finding groups of dinosaurs were warm-blooded, providing a new basis for the understanding of dinosaur biology. The researchers studied three lineages of dinosaurs — sauropods, ornithischia and therapods — in terms of their internal body temperature compared to the external environmental temperature.
                        .
As you may be aware, reptiles are cold blooded. The above is current research. Earlier investigations (into bone structure) arrived at the same conclusion. See if you can find that one. It would be a good exercise in looking things up before making your next statement.

Clearly none of this suggests a date for ancient reptiles or dinosaurs and although biologists doing this type of research habitually deny The Bible, at least by reading what they publish you can find out what they actually claim.

We Christians have a noose around the neck of atheists but they are always trying to slip out. They know they are defeated and need to come up with something, so they make stuff up. They find caves where kids drew pictures and try to claim they are drawing of adult after the flood that drowned everyone except Noah and family. Another of their tricks is to pull things out of the ice and claim there are preserved animals or people who survived the flood and died in ice. They are actually department story manakins. The worst nonsense is the atheists dress the fake corpse in LL Bean clothes and date it 5,000 years ago. Sorry, atheists, you're out.

Sir, it's infuriating that we pay taxes to cover their cruddy exhibits (with many pieces missing) and tedious long-winded theories - whereas quality displays using modern replica materials and glossy, well-produced brochures such as available at the Ark Encounter in Kentucky only receive tax rebates, taxpayer funded infrastructure, $62 million in junk bonds to subsidize the building, and 100 acres of public land purchased for $1. It's unspeakable corruption.
If I have seen further, it is by standing on the heads of others.
