Re: Why Mormons are NOT Christians

So I just found the thread. And you know, I've been reading your site for some time now because quite frankly it disgusted me how close-minded you people are. One thing God always wanted us to do is go out and accept everyone into our hearts, whether they be gay, of different race or size, or religion. He wants us to accept everyone no matter how different they are. But you people can't see that. You only see what you have painted for yourself, because you can't face the truth that everything you are preaching is sadistic and violent. Beating children so they listen to god? That's wrong. Condemning other religions and saying they aren't christian? That's wrong.

Why did I choose to comment on this thread? Well, because of the most obvious answer: I am mormon. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. And I have never been so happy in my life with where I am. I have a strong connection with God and you people condemning me does not waver my connection. I am taught to be open and honest about how I feel, both in the church and in my home and how I am raised: and from what I have seen here you do not allow that. You want your youth to follow strict rules or you will beat them. You condemn THEM to a life of misery and pain. And you don't see that do you?

Yes, this thread offended me. You know what? This entire site offended me. I hope you people are happy in the tight balls you've put around yourself. Because when you do finally reach heaven God won't be there... you have closed yourself off to God and you can't find him by doing what you are doing. Who made it right to beat someone or spit in their faces when they talk the way I do? Well everyone on this site did, obviously.

Like I said condemn me. Call me a sinner, a heathen, a harlot. Call me what you want but I am being honest with how I feel and I think I have a right to share that under God's will and my will. So good day to whoever is reading this, because I know by the time I post this people will be spitting in my face about how I am wrong and how messed up I am, when in reality it is YOU who is messed up.

          Good day.

A badly deluded false Christian fool. You are aware, are you not, that your cult was established by a con man? And this was AFTER he was convicted for fraud? But those gold tablets MUST be out there somewhere.

Maybe in the Magic Underwear Bible it says to "accept everyone" but not in the KJV Bible.

I just quoted the Bible which is the word of God and wondered if you have some sort of problem with reading because I don't know how you can spin that to mean what you said.

And instead you want to abuse us for daring to contradict you.

What's your explanation for failing to understand the Bible then?

You deserve contempt. You spit in the face of Jesus, you worship a man who thought he could tell the future by looking at a rock, and you think you get your own planet when you die.

Now be honest: do you deserve respect for coming to a peaceful Christian site and trying to defend such foolishness? Of course not. Now stop feeling sorry for yourself and get right with God before he throws you in a volcano.

No even the Magic Underwear Bible doesn't say to accept everyone. It even goes as far as to say that negro's are the spawn of Satan. They also claim that if you baptize a brown person that they will turn white. Of course they have now changed the wording (1988 I believe) to read "pure" instead of "white" and when the NAACP or whatever that negro group calls themselves threatened to sue them for not allowing negros to have the priesthood, their prophet had a "revalation" and all of a sudden negros were allowed to be priests. Well them and every 12-year-old boy.
PROOF: Atheists are too stupid to understand the Bible!

Proverbs 13:24(KJV): "He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes."

Galatians 4:16 Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?

Re: Why Mormons are NOT Christians

I should first say that I have many cherished friends who are Baptists. They are great people and I respect them very much. I should probably say next, that I am a proud member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

I just want to let you all know that I love our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He is the only way to salvation and gave his life to save us. I am eternally grateful for his sacrifice for me and all of you - my brothers and sisters. I love our Lord, Jesus Christ with all of my heart and strive to be like him daily.

I must say that the original post by the good Pastor seems to have good intent, but unfortunately does not portray our true beliefs with complete accuracy. I'm not here to "bible bash" or try to prove anyone right or wrong. I'm only here to let you all know that I, as a "Mormon" love each of you as my brothers and sisters and hope that we can all combine our similar VALUES to help make our communities a better place for us and our children. We absolutely have several differences in doctrine, however, I believe that we all have similar values.

I declare today, that I know the Bible and the Book of Mormon are both sacred collections of God's words to us. I know that they are both testaments of Jesus Christ and will bring us closer to him as we follow the counsel contained therein. I know that God is our Father in Heaven and that Jesus Christ is his only begotten Son. I know that the Holy Ghost will testify truth to our souls. I have read the Book of Mormon, listened to our living Prophet, and then prayed to know the truth. I promise you that the Holy Ghost touched my soul and let me know that what I read and heard was true. You too can know the truth through prayer - if you have a sincere heart.

I simply suggest that if you want to know what we believe, then ask us. We'll be happy to share our beliefs with you. If you don't know a member of my faith, simply go to mormon.org.

God be with you till we meet again.

Re: Why Mormons are NOT Christians

Oh yes, real quick, in case you want to know what we believe in a nutshell - here is what Joseph Smith wrote to a newspaper that wanted to publish the basics of our beliefs - they are called the Articles of Faith:

1 We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.

2 We believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam’s transgression.

3 We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel.

4 We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost.

5 We believe that a man must be called of God, by prophecy, and by the laying on of hands by those who are in authority, to preach the Gospel and administer in the ordinances thereof.

6 We believe in the same organization that existed in the Primitive Church, namely, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists, and so forth.

7 We believe in the gift of tongues, prophecy, revelation, visions, healing, interpretation of tongues, and so forth.

8 We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.

9 We believe all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal, and we believe that He will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of God.

10 We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes; that Zion (the New Jerusalem) will be built upon the American continent; that Christ will reign personally upon the earth; and, that the earth will be renewed and receive its paradisiacal glory.

11 We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.

12 We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law.

13 We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul—We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, ilovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.

Thank you all for taking the time to read my humble words.
