Re: Is Landover Baptist Church a CULT?
The church may be fine and dandy, but I would just like to point out a few things, especially about the forums;
A destructive cult tends to be totalitarian in its control of its members' behavior. (Cults are likely to dictate in great detail on how members think and speak.Aka, infractions and banning posters on what they say instead of leaving them be for the Lord to see and sort out.)
A destructive cult tends to have an ethical double standard. Members are urged to be obedient to the cult, to carefully follow cult rules. (Again, don't post anything out of the ordinary or you will be infracted/banned)
A destructive cult has only two basic purposes: recruiting new members and fund-raising. (It is condradicting itself with what you say "Jesus directed us to go forth and spread the Good News to all nations, and to win souls to follow Him, by any means necessary!". That is clearly recruitment. Whether it's Jesus gathering people to spread the word, or me gathering people to tell others how awesome chocolate bars are, it is still a form of recruitment.)
A destructive cult appears to be innovative and exclusive. (You claim this to be the only true church/faith, again a contradiction. No church is exclusive as they are all fragments of a total picture. ...."and we don't exclude anyone." Why do I keep getting infracted? Instead of teaching me you infract/ban me, that is clearly turning someone away. Give me a reason(s) to see why this is the only true church and true faith.)
A destructive cult is authoritarian in its power structure. (The mods really need to lay off on the bannings. They practice Pride every time they do so and this is for their own sake. Let the blasphemers post their posts, leave them there for God to see, and let Him sort them out)
I look forward to an infraction notice. I bet you anything I will get one
Or will you leave this be, turn the other cheek, and supply words of calm, reasoning, and support?
