  • Re: What can you do if your daughter refuses to marry her rapist?

So you insult me? It seems thats what it comes down to with you so called "True Christians" because thats all I've seen in this forum. Mindless bashing in the form of false righteousness.

It's quite amusing that you would question my age when your immaturity shows through your insults when you get frustrated. It reminds me of those foolish Mormans who came preaching at my doorstep. In actuality everything that I have said is correct in the English language. Maybe you should go back to school.

There is no denying of God's words here. I'm just so perplexed that it can be so twisted within your "church".

I don't quote the Bible because I don't feel the need to quote to those who are apparently "experts" at interpretation of the Bible.

For your information I've been saved for quite some time and my age is 19. Although you already knew that because you've been inside my profile and the 13 remark was just another mindless insult.

All that I've seen is hatred being bred here.
Ignorance in God's word is ignorance to God himself.

At least one person in this conversation definitely needs to go back to school. I'd pick a different one, this time.

Way to get off-topic, you self-righteous harpie

I wondered if English was your second language because you use very awkward phrasing throughout your posts that don't sound the way a native English speaker would write. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that you were just typing in a hurry and weren't thinking, okay?

Again, you say we are "twisting" God's word. Well you know what, I say YOU are twisting God's word. You want to deny what the Bible clearly says. Now, if you think we are wrong, give us a reason. Don't tell us how you FEEL about it - give us a valid reason backed up by facts why we should believe that our interpretation of the Bible is wrong.

Honestly, I didn't notice your age on your profile. Just your know-it-all style of posting, and your lame attempt at a cool screen name and emo avatar, that just looks like something someone younger would use. I apologize sincerely for the mistake.

But, stop making this all about you. It's not about you. You don't matter at all. You're worthless. This is about the topic at hand. This is a Christian website. We are here to discuss the Bible. If you want ME to believe that YOU have anything worth listening to, please prove to me that you've even ever looked in the general direction of a Bible in your life. Because so far, you haven't. So far, it sounds you don't know anything about religion except what other people have told you, and I really can't respect your opinion on this subject if that's the case.

There you go again with the mindless insults. So childish of you, really.

Look buddy, what you need to do is get your head out of the outdated.

Reread the NEW Testament and get a better understanding.

There's a reason why Jesus died for our sins and that reason is exactly why many of the OLD Testament's laws have been thrown out. This relates directly to the rape issue.

          Stop shrouding yourself in ignorance.

Actually the New Testament confirms that we should follow all of the Old Testament. The only laws that have been voided are a) animal sacrifices and b) dietary laws. Everything else still stands.

Matthew 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
Matthew 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
Matthew 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

2nd Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

James 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

All strangers are scary until you get to know them. You are being mean, not giving the poor fellow a chance. Not very Christian, if you ask me. And since when does a rapist hurt someone. The act is a giving, natural thing. Sure, occasionally passions flair and heads get walloped against headboards and such, but it is done with love. Are you really that full of hat that you cannot see that?
Would you want your father to be a rapist? Would you want to live with someone dangerous like that? Yes, breeding is important to keep the species alive, it goes for any on this planet. But I would get a better role model than a RAPIST for my future children.

All strangers scare me, but I love getting to know new people sometimes. But if a stranger is forcing me to do something I don't want to do, that's not kind on HIS part. Rape does not equal love. Rape is someone wanting sex and not caring who gets hurt. That is not love.

How can we have over 900 posts on this thread? Are most of these noobs totally retarded idiots? Have they never read the Bible? Are they totally incompetent and unable to comprehend a few dozen undeniably clear words composed in an succinctly clear sentence? God commands a woman to marry ANY MAN SHE LAYS WITH. Period. Failure to follow these words of God is a sin. There is no room for disagreement or discussion. Either you follow them as part of being a Christian or you do not because you want to go to Hell.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

Brother_Percy, think about the situation from a girl's point of view. Do you fully understand the meaning of being raped? It means to be forced into sex against your WILL. It is the most degrading, humiliating, and torturing of experiences. It is the one of the worst wrongs that could be done to the person. Do you actually expect a woman who has been humiliated by such a man to actually MARRY him of all things? It is a crime, just like any other crime. And someone else posted that the girl could come to like her rapist. That is absolutely outrageous!
If I were that girl, I would be disgusted and despise that man for humiliating me in such a way; I'd never want to be near him again. As a parent, if you were to force your child to marry your rapist, that's like inviting the murderer of your child to live as part of your family. Think about it. Would you really be able to do that???
The Bible quote that you are citing isn't supposed to be interpreted that way: it refers to a situation in which a man and woman would have had consensual relations: THEN it would be both of their responsibilities to follow through and get married. But otherwise, when such an act is forced on a woman, it becomes an act of evil, one that you can't just forgive and forget.
I disagree with the fact that the girl wants to abort her child, but I wholeheartedly support her in wanting to have nothing to do with the criminal.
You, Brother_Percy are desensitized because you could never know what that feels like as a woman to undergo such horror and mortification. Show some compassion!

                        Scripture:

                        Deuteronomy 22:28-29 (King James Version)

If a man find a damsel that is a virgin, which is not betrothed, and lay hold on her, and lie with her, and they be found; Then the man that lay with her shall give unto the damsel's father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife; because he hath humbled her, he may not put her away all his days.

Who are you to be telling us what the Bible means or doesn't mean? Rape is rape, and if you go back and read this thread from the very beginning, you'll understand what Brother Percy is saying.

What the rapist or rapee thinks or feels is completely irrelevant to God.

I do not understand how this has ANYTHING to do with the girl's feelings. We're talking about God's law here! If we took everyone's feelings into account every time then there would be a LOT more sinning in the world. There are too many "feel gooders" in the world as it is! What was she doing near a rapist anyway?

I would think the solution would have been to have stayed in her home helping her mother in the kitchen!
