I recently received a letter from a concerned parent. In the letter she told me that her daughter had been raped, but was refusing to marry her rapist as per Deuteronomy 22:28-29. The stupid girl actually wants to press charges on the man!

Not only that, but that she also plans to kill the poor unborn baby her rapist had given her! Sickening! Have young people today got NO morals?

Any and all advice on what I can say to convince this girl to do the right thing would be great. Should I start with the basics ?

"Whore, you'll burn in Hell for all eternity - unless you marry your rapist"??

Or should I go for a more subtle approach??

Deuteronomy 22:28-29 (King James Version)

If a man find a damsel that is a virgin, which is not betrothed, and lay hold on her, and lie with her, and they be found; Then the man that lay with her shall give unto the damsel's father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife; because he hath humbled her, he may not put her away all his days.

I understand that abortion should never ever be done. It's murder, so i don't support killing the baby. But for her to marry a disgusting sinner who will burn in hell for his immoral ways, is not absurd its CRAZY!

Does the Bible say that the man has a choice in the matter? NO! It says he has to pay her father the Bride price, marry her, and cannot divorce her for the rest of her life.

As for the married/betrothed woman, if she cries out she is sinless. If she doesn't cry out then she was a willing partner in fornication.



Are you actually suggesting that a woman should not be blamed if she rapes a man? Not that I'm sure how a woman WOULD rape a man, but there's lots in the Bible about how to deal with a harlot.

For the record, there are several cases in which a women rapes a man. Also, i'd like to ask the same question as the person that pointed this out, who's fault would that be?

Well obviously the woman is a harlot and should be stoned. If you read the post that I was answering though, his response was

So he seems to think that women should not be held responsible for their actions.

Why is the woman a "harlot" but the man is just some guy? Not trying to cause any arguments, just want to know if the bible goes that in depth with it.

As for the other post, i took it as just a question of "is she responsible", not a statement of his opinion. Then again, that's just me.

There is nothing about women raping men. I still don't see how a woman can rape a man. I don't even see WHY a woman would rape a man, sex is bad enough with your husband let alone going out and ***shudder***

Now, I do have a question for the Pastors that seems fitting here.

My question to the Pastors is, in this day-and-age, with double glazed windows and neighbours at work. If a woman cries out in the city and is not heard, is she still guilty? Which is more important? The location or the crying out?

Just as a most likely last comment here, as for HOW rape can be any forced sexual act so if a woman forced a man to 'you know' then it would be rape. Also, for WHY people rape for pleasure, given that there are people that only have sex for that reason though others disagree with that.

Oh my god. This is the most amazingly fascinating thing i've ever come across.. how about I go ahead and rape you? see rape is painful. Its not something that people should be discussing publicly as if its a good thing to marry your rapists. It is as if God is trying to facepalm us all..
