My Sears Kenmore dishwasher finally decided to go to dishwasher heaven. My homeowner's insurance is paying for a new one, they offered me $550 to replace it so I went to Sears and bought the least expensive one they had.

In the meantime I'm waiting for the delivery and the dishes are piling up.


I called quite a few friends, but the ones who were willing to come over, well, I didn't really have the heart to ask them to do the dishes.


I may have to just wait a few more days and run five straight loads. Well see how good the new one really is.

I've had a couple of those. They come and go. I need something reliable and it adds to the value of my house.

Hello, brother.

Have you asked any of the Coloreds around the neighborhood or town, perhaps? They are quite apt at doing chores. The female ethnics are especially great at dishes. Just keep an eye on them, and count how many plates you have beforehand.


I would suggest putting up a sign that says something along the lines of, "Need help with Di$hes"...the dollar sign will instantly attract the Mexicans and Negroes. This also helps in the case of them not being able to read the rest of the words; they will just see the $ and come running or driving in their 1995 Mazda.

Five straight loads, you say? I have a Mexican girl who does my dishes, and I reckon she could take ten loads with her eyes closed and beg for more!

We're here in California, of course, but I suppose you could fly her out there. I'll warn you, though, minimum wage is pretty high here in Cali, and that's what she'll probably expect, plus a "gratuity."

I decided that if I ever get a house with a kitchen big enough I want to have two dishwashers, one to wash the dishes in and then another to transfer the dishes to when they're dirty. That's living!
