    Memorial day

    Okay, this particular day I truly don't get. Since when did we put man above Jesus Christ? After all, wasn't HE the one who truly gave of himself as per Matthew 27? Nowhere in that chapter did I see a solider give of himself.

    And then I see lot of these pictures of soldiers kneeling before a gun, helmet, and shoes . Exodus 20:3-5 says it all

    3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
    4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
    5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;

    Folks, let's not get this day misconstrued as a holiday for giving credit to man for what Jesus did all those years ago.
    Blessings,

    Re: Memorial day

    Amen. REAL soldiers have the protection of Jesus (Isaiah 54:17, Psalms 34:7). We know there are no atheists in foxholes, but being a believer in God isn't enough, not nearly enough. If you get killed overseas, it's because of your own moral failings, and the pain of a roadside IED or AK-47 round is nothing compared to the fires that await in Hell, where you'll burn alongside the bleeding heart liberals who don't support the troops.
    I was sinking deep in sin far from the peaceful shore,
    Very deeply stained within, sinking to rise no more;
    But the Master of the Sea heard my despairing cry,
    From the waters lifted me, now safe am I!

      Exactly Mr. Lukes and I don't think people truly get it or don't want to get it because they are too busy giving man credit for doing what Jesus did. Man's priorities are so screwed up it's disheartening.

        Oh, exactly so, dear Mr. Wright! You may have noticed how some people are always searching for which way the stage lights are directed, so that they will find the best spot to be seen in a good light. Rather than giving the credit to the , they steal the credit that is owing to !

        I mean, anybody can see very clearly what He has said within the pages of wondrous . Does it not say here -- as clear as the day is long -- that will give the protection that is needed? What more is needed? Is this not sufficient?

          The thing I don't like about Memorial Day is it's too general. It's like we're going to honor all the dead soldiers and all our dead relatives. The sooner we forget all the sinners and atheists the better off we all are. Honoring them is a sin by itself. The name should be changed.
          Isaiah 24:1-3 Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty (2)...as the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him. (3) The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken his word.

            So very true, especially about the name change. I'm on board for that idea. True story, this morning, I went outside and people were wondering why I didn't have a flag out and I said you know what? I don't acknowledge this day simply because it doesn't honor Jesus Christ. Call me what you will, that doesn't matter to me, what truly matters is that we remember what Christ did for us! No dead soldier can save you!

                And what's the deal with honoring living veterans on Memorial Day? If you're not a KIA, shut the Hell up. That's what Veterans Day is for. And even that one is abused by active duty service members who are not yet KIA or veterans. They have their own Armed Forces Day, they don't get THREE freaking holidays. Come on.

                  I think that that is a very good way of understanding the situation, dear Mr. Wright. If only more people would accept the truth for what it is; then, we would be in such a better place.

                    I was thinking about those as well. Frankly, I think we need to start putting some petitions out there to get more Christian holidays.

                      But think of it this way, Brother Dennis: 2 days/year when we're supposed to think about the veterans means 363 days/year we don't have to. We send all these young people to die, to be permanently injured, to get cancer from exposure to toxic chemicals, and to spend the rest of their days crippled by PTSD.

                      Just thinking of them two times per year is a much smaller price to pay than actually helping them recover or something. And I'm so glad I don't have to think of them when I see them begging on the streets, these useless homeless bums.

                        Non-biblical PTSD is a myth made up by anti-war hippies in the 1970s. Cases seem to have shot up ever since Bill Clinton allowed closeted fags into the military. Most instances of combat fatigue are likely from malingering homo queers who are too girly and sensitive to go out and kill.

                          Personally I like soldiers who don't die or get injured. The kids knew what they were signing up for. But OK, nowadays losers get a special day too. We remember you, you sucked.

                            Amen, dear Brother Dr. Toole! What we need are men who are real fighters -- men who will hold high our glorious Stars & Stripes, and not those wimpy, girly-man types who whine incessantly whenever they get a hangnail. And, certainly not losers like John McCain! Our beloved President Trump spoke the truth about Mr. McCain's regrettable history -- a lesson we must all remember!

                            When McCain died, in August 2018, Trump told his senior staff, according to three sources with direct knowledge of this event, ‘We’re not going to support that loser’s funeral,’ and he became furious, according to witnesses, when he saw flags lowered to half-staff
