    I'm confused about Polygamy

Is Polygamy OK? It's all over the Bible. But most True Christians avoid it.

I saw this web site that tells me that California will soon have Polygamy! Is this good or bad?

Can you show me where in the New Testament polygamy is encouraged?

And will you end your bizarre obsession with fighting Proposition 8 with your lies, queer-lover?

"A" man and "a" woman is clearly one man and one woman.

Sorry! I'm new to this! I haven't gotten up to the New Testament yet! I'm still on the first one.

(And I hope it doesn't suck, the way Dan Brown's second book wasn't as good as his first one.)

I thought you said polygamy was "all over the Bible".

        More lies.

It is! It's all over volume 1. But you said that in Volume 2, Jesus says "HA HA! Don't listen to dad!"

I never said anything of the sort.

            Jesus IS God, fool.

That's hardly the only thing you'll find in their anthology that doesn't make sense. I'm sure by now that you've noticed that the men in the OT who are most revered and considered righteous were not very nice.

              A few examples:
Abraham - raped a servant in order to get her pregnant. Was ready to commit human sacrifice of his own son because he heard a voice that told him to do so.

Sarah (Abe's wife) - raping the servant was her idea, as was abandoning the same servant and her son in the desert after her own son was born.

Jacob - tricked his brother into trading his birthright for a bowl of stew, and tricked his blind father into thinking he was his brother for the bestowing of the birthright. Tricked his father-in-law into giving him most of his livestock. Rubbed his son's faces in the fact that Joseph was his favorite son and treated him preferentially.

Jacob, Simeon, and Levi - lied to Jacob about Shechem having raped Dinah, lied to Shechem that they would allow Dinah to marry him if all the men in his village would agree to be circumcised, then attacked and killed the men while they were recovering from this painful procedure.

Joseph - flaunted the fact that he was his father's favorite in front of his brothers. Framed his brothers for theft.

The Bible says, following the tradition of Adam and Eve, that you have one wife but you may also have unlimited numbers of concubines, who are sort of "lesser wives"

The proposition you mention would not allow polygamy; the first marriage of a man and a woman would be OK but subsequent marriages would be between a man, a woman and another woman - three people.

The idea of the proposition is to prevent homers soiling the world with their abominations.

Skipinto - you're a deceptive sort of troll, you appear more intelligent than you are.

Listen troll; Your shenanigans are duly noted, and are being referred to the proper authorities. If your plan is to post a series of idiotic questions in order to trip us up, then it won't work.
