Hello there to you all!
Let me start by saying, that I'm not trying to start a huge debate or discussion, neither to flame the site or anyone using it, and if you feel I did, I'm terribly sorry.
I've read a couple of the threads on the forums, and it seemed to me like many of you are very judgmental and are sometimes prejudicial as well.
Although there's nothing wrong with that, everybody have prejudices about someone or something, based on experiences and the likes. However, I think it's wrong to spread bad thoughts to other people because of that, and there's no reason to make those groups of people suffer.
I'm well aware that you're trying to help people, to help them avoid bad people and become better Christians, but shouldn't it be something people should figure out for themselves?
Even though I'm afraid that this will ruin my chances of anybody reading the rest of my post with neutral eyes, I'll tell you immediatley that I'm not really much of a Christian, not really any religion at all, because so far, none of them have seemed sensible to me.
This is why I will do my best not to quote anything from the Bible, find contradictions, or use stupid pictures that doesn't really prove anything.
I'm not going to use statements like "wouldn't it all be better if...", and I'm not going to quote whatever atheists or Christians the Internet can find for me.
I am not trying to settle things between different religions, believers and non-believers, blacks and whites, etc.
Why? Because this is a fact, and you should all know it: If we get into a major debate, it will lead to nowhere, and the people in the discussion will all believe that they will win, and will do anything to do so, including myself.
My point is this:
It is definitely a very difficult question (for everybody): What if you're wrong?
I often think that to myself, about everything! My spirituality, my political standings, my social life, my general way of life, what if what I'm doing isn't "right". What if I've been missing out on something big, because I've been so busy living "how I've always been living". And to be honest, I've made some very grim, and some very enlightening discoveries, even concerning things where I've always thought that I've been perfectly right!
This is NOT some poor attempt to convert you all into some wacky religion or whatever, this is something I say to a lot of people whenever we're having a deep discussion. Because only by thinking from flaws and wrongs, instead of corrects and rights, you'll make any real discoveries in this world!
Seriously, give it a try, if you give it some serious thought and you figure out that you're living life perfectly, then great for you! If not, then you can hopefully use your newly found discovery to help you along in life.
I know I promised not to, but think of people who've been thinking differently throughout history, and what they've achieved by doing so...
Now, you might call me a coward, ecspecially for this final statement, but I am not going to read/reply to uncritically negative comments (who knows, I could be banned for this post alone), but if you have anything constructive or positive comments to this, I would love to hear them
Have a nice day
