Should I change my name?

[Jeb Stuart Thurmond]

I'm thinking I'll have to change my name. First of all, nobody seems to respect the nobility of the Thurmond name anymore. Nobody seems to remember Strom Thurmond, in fact, people keep asking me if I'm related to Uma Thurmond, the feminazi harlot from Kill Bill.

The final straw has been the discovery that 11 generations back an ancestor was born out of wedlock. This means that my father, and grandfather, and so on back 10 generations were all bastards, and defied God by going to church:

Deuteronomy 23:1-2

23:1 He that is wounded in the stones, or hath his privy member cut off, shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD.
23:2 A bastard shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD; even to his tenth generation shall he not enter into the congregation of the LORD.


So, I'm thinking I owe nothing to this dishonorable family and so I will rename myself Jeb Fox. Bretheren, what do you think?

You could just abandon your last name: It is very Godly. Who knows what Moses's, Adam's, Paul's, etc., family name was? For all they cared, they might not have had fathers. (This is a Godly philosophy and equates to (a) not calling anyone "Father" except God and (b) hating your parents, just as Jesus commanded.

And 'Yahweh': no one goes around saying, "Yahweh what?" (Well, they don't in Landover for obvious reasons, but even in the outside world, no one bothers to ask.)

Just call yourself 'Jeb'

Uma seems to have disappeared from the radar. I guess she's old and fat now. I'm still thinking about my name though.

My middle name is Stuart, after Jeb Stuart, Confederate hero of the War Of Northern Aggression.

Does everybody like the idea of, in the future, benefitting from the wisdom of "Jeb Stuart Thurmond"?
