Friend, you would find much peace if only you let JESUS into your heart.

Listen, what made me angry is that he called me a twat. That's just uncalled for.

You know, I am at peace. I really am. The only thing I find a problem in this world is religion... And you guys don't seem to get it.. I'm just going to go now, and I am not welcome here to discuss anything without being cursed at, called a child, or just being bombarded with Bible quotes.

Against my better judgement, I watched some of that youtube thingy. What garbage.

The narrator is so biased. He starts by assuming there is no god, they confirms his bias by not finding God.

We here at LBC are much more open minded and seach for the truth whereever it may take us. It always takes us to the Bible and Jesus.
Isaiah 24:1-3 Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty (2)...as the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him. (3) The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken his word.

          Hello my Brothers and Sisters,

I do not believe in god and I live a wonderful life. I don't know why you assume anyone who doesn't believe in god is lonely and depressed. Luke sounded like a reasonable fellow.

Re: What is it like to be an atheist?

Atheism is a form of ancestor worship, like the chinks practice. They think their great-great-great-grandparents were monkeys, so they make up things like evilution to justify their monkey-worshipping occultism, which is really nothing more than a cover for their addiction to sin. Deep in their black little hearts, they know that Jesus Christ is King of Kings and LORD of Lords. Try as they might to postpone their inevitable and unavoidable confession of His majesty (Romans 14:11), they persist in self-delusion, all for the sake of justifying their perversion and total depravity. They are all stupid and ridiculous people who think they can take advantage of Jesus' kind offer of Redemption by postponing their conversion until they find themselves in either a foxhole or on a deathbed. Far more often, however, they find them flailing about in torments, in the fiery pits of hell!
                          II Thessalonians 1:7-9
And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,
In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power

The man who is being progressively sanctified will inescapably sanctify his home, school, politics, economics, science, and all things else by understanding and interpreting all things in terms of the Word of God and by bringing all things under the Dominion of Christ the King. -R.J. First of all I already mentioned that I don't like labeling myself as an atheist as I don't like to be grouped together with any particular group. I find this inhibiting since if you are in a group and the group decides to do something you disagree with it puts you in a tough situation. I would describe myself who doesn't believe in the existence of a God but I do not rule out the possibility.

Where do I begin with your question (its a very broad question)? I'll give you some examples of things I believe in and you can ask for more specifics. This is going to be disjointed.

                            • I believe that humans are incredible in their ability to solve problems and are curious about what we don't know.
                            • I believe that humans are inherently good and seek to help each other and better the world.
                            • I believe that everyone should be allowed to believe what they want, practice whatever religion they want, say and do what they want as long as it doesn't endanger other humans.
                            • I believe I am a good person because I know what is morally right and wrong.
                            • I believe that redemption is possible for anyone.
                            • This one's corny, but I believe that the best things in life are free. Spending time with a loved one, hiking to see a beautiful sight, a good long night of sleep, etc. The list goes on but all of the most enjoyable things in life are free.
                            • I believe that only 1 of ~7 billion people on this planet in this infinitely vast universe. I believe that I truly am insignificant in the scope of all history but that doesn't mean I can't make significant differences for the people around me.
                            • Following from that, I believe that one of the most significant and special things I can do is show the people I care about that I do love them and care for them.
                            • I believe the universe is beautiful in that it functions perfectly to foster life on Earth and to sustain the stars and galaxies that we see at night.
                            • I believe there could be other life forms somewhere out in the universe.
                            • I think that there the advances in science and technology that we've had are amazing but there is still an infinite amount of knowledge that we don't know.
                            • I believe since we are curious and intelligent beings we will continue to solve the worlds mysteries but since the unknown is infinite we will never be able to understand everything.
                            • For a less abstract belief, I believe that education is vital for everyone as it allows us to achieve progress and gain knowledge.
                            • Lastly, since it pertains to the forum that we are in, I do believe in the possibility of a God and I also believe in the possibility of the big bang or some theory that we haven't figured out yet which would explain why we are here.

I tried to organize that list in some sort of discernible order. Sorry if it seems random. I could go on listing beliefs forever. If you have any specific questions about that list or about any specific topics that you would like to know my beliefs on I will try to answer them as best as I can. Again, I will ignore rude comments. Thank you Destiny's Blunder for showing genuine interest in what someone who doesn't believe in God believes in.

Why do you refuse to call yourself an atheist if you are without theism (God)?
Please read my short list of beliefs that I came up with off the top of my head. But to answer your first question, I believe that it is possible to have morals without believing in God. I know inside of me that it is wrong to murder, steal, rape, be dishonest, etc. I don't know why I know these things are wrong but I believe we all have some sort of moral compass inside of us no matter what religion we follow. When I was little I remember lying to my mom about something inconsequential (whether I got a bad grade in school or something else that kids will do) and even at a young age I remember feeling bad lying. I believe we are just born knowing that certain things are not right.

I don't like calling myself an atheist because I don't like being put into a group. For example, if I called myself an atheist and tomorrow someone like Richard Dawkins or some other self-proclaimed atheist "leader" said that all atheists must take up arms and kill Christians. I would never want to do that. Obviously that is an extreme and probably stupid example but I hope you understand the point. I don't want to be in a group where I feel like I have to act as the group does. From my experience groups can become worse than the sum of their individuals (think teasing in school, alone one kid might not do it but as a group 5 or 6 kids might tease someone).

One other thing I believe is that everyone in this forum has the best of intentions. I truly believe that everyone here wants the best for each other and even for an outsider like me. Even though I don't have the same beliefs about God as you I do appreciate that I see you do want the best for everyone.

Re: What is it like to be an atheist?

An atheist is like a horrible little child who is not grateful for all his father does for him.

His father gives him life and food. His father gives him love. His father corrects him with the rod when required.

The little brat just screams and bangs on the floor shouting 'I HATE YOU!!'.

The atheist acts in the same to his Father.
