Not really. I mean, there are dozens of different denominations with different beliefs, all based on their interpretation of the same book. Heck, even the Catholic church and gay affirming churches believe in the Bible.

Being an atheist is great. You get to sleep in on Sunday, you don't have to tithe to anyone, you can do what you want to do without any worries of retribution

The majority of atheists *do* have morality. They don't rape or murder of their fellow humans, because, well, that's a shitty that to do.

Notice how you cut off my quote a little early? Yeah, that's important.

I do worry about the consequences of my actions, but I don't worry about retribution from an invisible friend (aka God). There's a very big difference between the two.

As surprising as Landover might find it, there are plenty of people with a good morality that isn't based on the Bible, Jesus or Yahweh. In fact, they outnumber the Christians of the world.

As stated, my personal morality is based on a combination of wanting to keep the world a nice place, forethought, an understanding of the consequences of my actions and a strong sense of empathy. None of those things depend on Jesus in any way what-so-fuckin-ever.

I agree. Empathy more than enough explains morality without religion. Also, that "objective morality" argument never made sense to me. Ask two completely different people what it means to be moral, and you will get differing opinions.

They have a rudimentary kind of morality that is situational and lizard-like in its crudity. It's basically a brain stem reaction to their surroundings with no foundation other than vanity.

People say society is getting more tolerant of atheists but I think the real test is would you leave your child or wallet in the care of an atheist?

My mother is both an atheist and a nurse, so she's had a whole hell of a lot of people that she's had to take care of. I'm also and atheist and I've worked as a nurse aide and I'm in school to become a nurse as well, so I've had to care for others as well. We care about people with or without God.

I think the only reasons an atheist would become a nurse are:

1. Easy access to narcotics.
2. Opportunity to perform abortions-on-demand.
3. Raping comatose patients.

This is what I've heard anyway. I don't go to doctors, so I have no first-hand knowledge of their depravities.

What always amuses me is all these atheists stamping round ranting about how they can do good actions without needing to worship God and that all their decisions they make to do good things are even better because they aren't just doing them to appease God and not be burnt forever. They claim that there isn't a single moral decision that can't be made for purely secular reasons.

And for all of that they're going to burn forever in Hell. GLORY!

Some scrubs might look cuter than others, but they're hardly what you would call 'sexy.' This is especially true at the end of a shift when they're generally covered in a mixture of geriatric 'waste' and sweat.
