What is it like to be an atheist?

It is absolutely amazing. Our minds are free from the chains of religion. We are able to comprehend how the universe really is, and get a laugh out of the sheep that are blind to their so called 'god', their faceless master. We atheists are the true higher beings. We are the rational people that keep this world from tearing itself apart. We are the few humans who have actually seen the true, clear light. And to us, it shines through the lies and deceits of religion, pure, true, and brighter than anything comprehensible by the lesser minds.

Right, I understand this. Anyone can reach a spiritual enlightening without the fairytales and quotes that the bible entails. Also, "normal": everyday, go-to-work, come-home-to-family type person. The average civilian living their lives in this current time. Normal might also mean what one might encounter on a daily basis, or what is common thing.

I was not talking to you about "spiritual enlightening" that anyone could reach, whatever that means. I was trying to tell you that your position is procarious, to put it mildly. The Bible does not entail fairy tales but contains the True Inerrant Word of the One and Only God, Creator of the Universe, Who, inspite of His greatness, cares personally for you and me. What matters is what God thinks normal is, and not how you define it (good thing, because according to you being normal has something to do with going to work, having a family and belonging to some kind of a majority "every day Joe" club. I am not sure that I would be satisfied with such normalcy. I believe, God requires a lot more... Micah 6:8

Atheists are by definition; people who do not believe in god or gods. They are not inherently evil or just base line animals. This line of thinking only shows that many are very close minded or uneducated about the real world. What I have found is that many atheists do not believe they will ever be reunited with their loved ones after this life. Therefore they spend their time in the now wisely. Taking the time to be with their families and loving them the way we all should everyday. If someone truly needs religion in order to Not be a bad person then they are already a bad person. No amount of religion can fix that. If (whomever you are reading this) you suddenly lost your faith, does that mean you would instantly lose all morals and just start raping, killing, and stealing? NO. Of course not, and neither do atheists. They are just people who don't happen to believe in god, not evil or mindless animals. Sad to me that anyone would think like this........

As I came across a helpful article showing me how to persuade an atheist to become a Christian, I read the preparation step called, "Imagine how they feel about their beliefs." Well, that got me to thinking, what DO atheists believe? What is it like to be in the head of an atheist? Is there any logical thought at all or is it pure animal instinct? Does one consider things like pleasure and pain or is an atheist simply driven to eat, sleep, and have sex with the closest hole that fits a peg (or peg that fits a hole, as it were)? I'm sincerely curious and wonder how can we help you overcome these base animal instincts to be saved from an eternity of torment that is due simply for the crime of having been born human and therefor depraved.

I look forward to your replies.
