Why on God's Green Earth should we want to talk to the insane and mentally retarded?

    Romans 1:18-25

    18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

Someone who flatly refuses to look at the VAST amounts of evidence that destroy their pathetic claims is obviously not right in the head. And the saddest part about it is, the very Jesus they flee is their only cure for their malady

    Matthew 14:15-18

15 Lord, have mercy on my son: for he is lunatick, and sore vexed: for ofttimes he falleth into the fire, and oft into the water.
16 And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not cure him.
17 Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to me.
18 And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour.

So you see, talking to an atheist would be less productive than talking to a flat tire.

    Yours in Him

First off, your spelling and punctuation are atrocious, I had to read that twice just to vaguely get the jist.

Second, atheists are not too secretive, they proselytize more than most false Christians (half sad to say). Every time I turn around there is some secularist mocking God in one way or another. Not too long ago this sad bastard was forcing his atheist religion down our throats by refusing to Swear on The Bible. Can you think of anything more silly than that?

I don't think we're missing anything by not sharing their company, that we couldn't find out very easily on Fox News. Plus online there is pause and fast forward

Re: What is it like to be an atheist?

I haven't read through many posts due to lack of time, but from the small amount of replies I saw most were Christian responses. I wouldn't call myself an athiest as such as I can't personally confirm anything to be 100% true and it would be arrogant of me to do so. But from the research I have done on the topic of religion I have decided that although I can't prove or disprove the existence of God, I find it highly unlikely that he exists - at least not in the sense that we imagine. A lot of people here have written some very arrogant, degrading and ignorant thoughts on athiests. That's pretty disappointing, especially if you are of a religion of love and forgiveness. That aside, I can tell you that I have morals. I have no desire to do anyone harm and never have. I have always been this way and have never been "told to" or threatened with punishment should I choose to abandon them. I am an intelligent person. I enjoy learning something new everyday and take all knowledge on board with the awareness that what we "know" today can be disproved tomorrow. I am happy. I live in a beautiful world in an amazing universe and intend on making the most of my time here. I see the attraction of being religious. Believe me, it would be nice to know that someone is looking after me, that one day I will be reunited with my family and friends. It will take too long to explain in detail but in my opinion it just doesn't add up. I came on here in an attempt to close the gap between Christian and athiest. I know it's not likely, but we're all human and we can at least come together on that. It's important that we do. I hope that this response isn't met with insults or condescending remarks, but it's out of my control I guess. Anyway, you asked the question - here's one view

If you read the Bible you would know He indeed exists. Read the following scriptures:

2nd Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

2 Peter 1:21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

Habakkuk 2:2 And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.

                There is your undeniable proof.

A lot of people here have written some very arrogant, degrading and ignorant thoughts on athiests.
It's because we love you With that said, why do you want to go to hell and burn forever being sodomized by Satan with your head held down in the lake of fire? We don't want that for you

Revelation 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

You offer a lovely example of why so many replies have been from Christians. Atheists are generally tremendously ignorant, and therefore not only unknowing of their own thoughts, but useless when it comes to explaining. For example, you suggest you wouldn't call yourself an atheist because you cannot confirm anything to be 100% true, and yet all that is required to be identified as atheist is a lack of belief in a god or gods. That's it. There are no other beliefs or confirmations to maintain. Either you believe, or you don't. What you believe beyond that isn't about atheism, it's about the nature of reality.

What possible research could you have done, considering you don't even know what it means to be atheist? (hint: "a" from the Latin meaning "without," and "theo" from the Latin meaning "gods" a+theo+ist = a person who lacks a belief in the existence of gods)

From where do you get that impression, dear? It is God's job to forgive, based on the sole criteria of belief in the amazing, fantastic events of His Son, who is also Himself, having been sacrificed in atonement for the sins of those who believe.

If that's all True Christianity™ was, that would be quite interesting. Instead, we know that no mere "someone" is looking after us, but the very King of Kings has blessed us with abundance, above and beyond what we need (Proverbs 3:10). We await the Coming of the LORD, the most anticipated event in all history, for then we shall be swept up to Heaven, gathered together to worship Jesus, and settle into a New Jerusalem were we are rulers over all creation, even the very angels (Revelation 5:10; 1 Corinthians 6:2-3). A bit more exciting than a family reunion, don't you think?

There is the heart of the mater friend; an Atheist is someone who is so arrogant that they will refuse to believe something exists simply because there is no evidence for it!

Hi, I found interesting your phrase that God does not exist, at least not in the way WE IMAGINE. I don't know what it is that YOU imagine Him to be, but God doesn't rely on your imagination for His existence. He exists whether or not your imagination can fathom Him or not (thankfully). Romans 1:19-20, 1 Corinthians 8:6, Revelation 4:11.
Joshua 1:6: "Bee strong, and of a good courage: for vnto this people shalt thou diuide for an inheritance the land which I sware vnto their fathers to giue them".
