I would like to think that none of these characters has ever crossed your path. These men are sinners of the first order who would befuddle a lady’s mind with strong drink and then unscrupulously take advantage of her.

I myself have more than once attempted to demonstrate these great dangers by plying young ladies with alcoholic beverages to see how far they would go – naturally, I always stop short of the final iniquity and showing them instead the warm love of Jesus.

Actress Brittany Murphy Dies Aged 32: Report

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Actress Brittany Murphy, who starred in such films as "Just Married" and "Uptown Girls" but saw her fortunes fade in recent years, died on Sunday after going into cardiac arrest, the Los Angeles Times reported.

She was 32.

The paper said the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to "a medical request" at Murphy's home in West Hollywood, and took her to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center near Beverly Hills, where she was pronounced dead.

The death was first reported by online gossip site TMZ.

Only 32? Golly, I just can't imagine what the cause might be...

Kim Peek, Rain Man Inspiration, Dies

Kim Peek, the inspiration for the movie "Rain Man," has died. The 1988 film, about an autistic savant (Dustin Hoffman) and his hustler brother (Tom Cruise) won several Oscars. Kim Peek was 58, and died of an apparent heart attack.

"Rain Man" is what many people think of when they think of autism. In reality, it was discovered later that Kim Peek, although the inspiration for Hoffman's character, was not autistic at all.

Instead, Kim Peek was born without connective tissue to bring the left and right sides of his brain together. As such, he was unable to filter information. He often had to twist a cord or hum to himself so he could block out distractions. However, autistic people are unable to integrate sensory information, which is a somewhat different problem.

However, while what scientists called a mega-savant, having phenomenal knowledge in 15 broad categories, simple tasks like dressing himself or setting the table eluded him. Scientists determined that Kim Peek was able to read the left page of a book with his left eye, and the right page of a book with his right eye, simultaneously, which would once again be something an autistic person cannot do.

Kim Peek and his father Fran first met screenwriter Barry Morrow at a convention in the '80s. Within two years Morrow had written and sold the script for the movie "Rain Man." Dustin Hoffman spent time with Kim Peek and with other savants to prepare for his role. Morrow later gave Peek his Oscar.

The movie "Rain Man" won Oscars for Best Actor (Hoffman), Best Director (Barry Levinson), Best Picture, and Best Writing, Original Screenplay (Morrow and Ron Bass).

Connie Hines, Dies at 79; ‘Mister Ed’ Actress

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (AP) — Connie Hines, an actress best known for playing a supporting role to a talking horse on the television show “Mister Ed,” died on Friday at her home here. She was 79.

The cause was complications of heart problems, Alan Young, her “Mister Ed” co-star, told The Los Angeles Times.

On “Mister Ed,” seen on CBS from 1961 to 1966, Mr. Young played Wilbur Post, the only person who could communicate with the title character, a horse. Ms. Hines played Carol, Wilbur’s patient and long-suffering wife.

Ms. Hines had “a tough chore,” Mr. Young said.

“She was a girl married to a fellow listening to a horse,” he explained. “Her biggest line was ‘Lunch is ready.’ ”

Ms. Hines also appeared on a number of other television shows, including “Bonanza,” “Perry Mason” and “The Millionaire.”

She was married twice. Her second husband, Lee Savin, an entertainment lawyer and producer, died in 1995.

Arnold Stang died 23rd December. He was the voice of “Top Cat” and is Hellbound. He was the man, who by his degenerate example turned a generation of well-behaved American (and foreign children) into criminal gang members with a complete disregard for lawful authority, thus leading to opposition to the Vietnamese War and the demoralization of the Armed Forces. He will be in the deepest pit of the darkest region when the train pulls in to Hell.

Actor who was the voice of cartoon Top Cat dies.
The Hollywood actor known to TV viewers around the world as the voice of Top Cat has died at the age of 91.

New Yorker Arnold Stang forged the cartoon character's distinctive tones in the very first Top Cat in September 1961.

He went on to record 30 classic episodes featuring T.C. and his gang of streetwise chums, including Bennie The Ball, Choo-Choo and Brain.

Pals said the star, who died of pneumonia at Newton-Wellesley Hospital in Massachusetts, was every bit as sharp in real life as the character he played on screen.

Known for his distinctive nasal voice and nerdy looks, he once described himself as "a frightened chipmunk who's been out in the rain too long". As for his squawky voice, he quipped: "I'm kind of attached to it... it's a personal logo."

Stang also voiced dozens of other cartoons and TV commercials and had a distinguished movie career, starring opposite Frank Sinatra in 1955 film The Man with the Golden Arm.

He continued acting into his 80s and appeared in movies alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bill Cosby. His final big screen role was in 1993 movie Dennis the Menace.

The actor's wife of 60 years JoAnne Stang was at his bedside when he died on Sunday.

She said: "He could do any role, comedy or drama, he loved it all.
"He thought of himself just as an actor who would play whatever he was asked."
