Eva Marie Saint, mistress of the Golden Age of Hollywood was no saint. She was not canonized by the blessed Pope. She's dead.

I gather she was a Quaker. Although not enough in itself to guarantee perdition—and the 10 seconds I devoted to scrutiny of her career is all its going to get—whether she remained a Quaker is immaterial compared to rejection by a pope for one of his promotions, which leaves the door open for her to have accepted Christ.

Promoting the idea that we don't know what's "out there" does challenge Christ's information concerning "the universe" so her life, cut short at 102, may well have been an opportunity wasted.

Manuel Otto, the creator of the Stickman games died at 30 today by dressing himself up as a woman and setting himself on fire. As he was German, could this been some macabre, avant garde conceptual art?

Walter Koenig, the actor who played Ensign Chekov on the original Star Trek television series back in the 1960s, has died at the age of 90.

The Lord gave him plenty of time to repent over his involvement in that show, (I know that I did), and to acknowledge Jesus as the True Messiah. (Koenig was Jewish.) As far as I ever heard from my former friends "in the life", (Trekkies attending fan conventions.), he never did.

I did hear from folks who used to organize those conventions that he at least took a page out of Donald Trump's playbook and enjoyed the attentions of scantily-clad girls participating in the costume contests. It's good to see that he showed at least some sense and enjoyed the privileges accorded to a star-- if you could call him that.

Some time ago I was obliged to attend a (something)con. Comic- or Space- or SciFi- I don't recall. A "Dalek" was present and you could get inside and "see what it was like" to be a Dalek.

I doubt that the previous occupants had been practising good hygiene.

Well, you could look out and operate the controls: it was a silver Dalek: I couldn't get out quick enough. How likely am I to have adsorbed the Dalek ethos onto my surface?
