    That's my boy!!

I was getting somewhat concerned about my eight year old boys behavior in church, he just didn't seem interested in the ways of the Lord, so we brought up the problem to our prayer circle one Sunday evening. Within about two weeks our prayers were answered with a genuine miracle! I heard my son, who was alone in his room, talking in a low, deep voice and my curiosity was piqued, so I tip-toed to my sons room and peeked through his partially opened door to witness a wonderful, spiritual change in my boy.

Although he had an "Uncle Milton's" ant farm since he was five, he previously would just feed, water and observe his little ant pets, but today he advanced to real believer status with his little ant subjects! First, he poured an immense amount of water into his ant farm, killing almost all of his ants, then he violently shook the ant farm killing more. Then he poured some kind of poison into the ant farm killing one half of his ants with 'plague like' results. He even had one little ant on a toothpick cross, fastened on with some pins. What a little trooper he was becoming!

I asked him why he was killing his little bug friends, and my boy stated that he put a sugar cube in the middle of his ant farm and told the ants not to "eat of the cube", but the ants ignored his request, so he went "Old Testament" on them. Even though my boy says he does it out of love, if he sees one more act of ant sodomy, he will cast the entire ant farm into a lake of fire, consisting of a well stoked barbeque grill.

God recommended ants as a teaching aid.

    3
Do this now, my son, and deliver thyself, when thou art come into the hand of thy friend; go, humble thyself, and make sure thy friend.
4 Give not sleep to thine eyes, nor slumber to thine eyelids.
5 Deliver thyself as a roe from the hand of the hunter, and as a bird from the hand of the fowler.
6 Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise:
7 Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler,
8 Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest.

Why, thank you Owen, we are so proud of our boy that 'someone' will be getting a extra large magnifying glass for their birthday in a few weeks! We feel that a magnifying glass will be a great Biblical teaching tool for the ants in his ant farm when the little guys get out of line. My wife and I feel it must have been a Christian that designed the ant farm because, like our world, the ants world is flat, built in seven days and all the ants live in a hermetically sealed bubble world, where they can believe any story they want to, no matter how seemingly unlikely it is! Praise Jesus!!

It's wonderful that torturing these dumb creatures is teaching this lad the ways of the Lord. Who says children have to be ill tempered and disturbingly disobedient wretches!
