    In the 1950's, Charlie Wilson, formerly President of General Motors and then Secretary of Defense, said, "What's good for General Motors is good for America."

    That was and remains true. Also true is that what's good for President Trump's reelection is good for America. That is why this impeachment talk is so ridiculous. The President was helping the country by getting dirt on a candidate who would ruin us. If the Democrats were the least bit patriotic they would be cheering on the President.

      Precisely true, Mr. Mayor. It's times like this where we need to stop an ask ourselves what the constitution is about and why it is considered a foundational document of modern Western civilization. Does it enshrine the values of human integrity of how we should rule ourselves, learned over millenia at great cost in blood, sweat and tears? Was it born out of fear of tyranny from lawless and unconstrained power? NO! Nonsense. It's there to protect the President and anyone he cares about so he can get rich and build hotels in former Soviet states. Anyway it's golf o'clock now.
      If I have seen further, it is by standing on the heads of others.

        Fine insight, Dr. Toole. We have an entire country here in the U.S. that talks about the Constitution. Yet, few understand its real purpose.

          There is this awful feminazi person, Sam Bee, who went around screaming that the Founding Fathers were not gods.

          Well, of course, they weren't gods. But they mentioned God in the Declaration or the Constitution and that means that we are meant to be a Christian nation. Also we have our Pledge of Allegiance, with its profoundly pronounced words, "One Nation, Under God". If you take away God, what are we? One nation under the Constitution? . . .


          Well, I guess that's okay, since God is in the Constitution.


          Anyway, God is our true King and Ruler, and He placed Donald Trump where he is today. God will protect him. We just have to pray to make sure that God is able to fulfil His Divine Will.

                I might want to disagree to some extent. While the Constitution probably was at least in part designed to help the President enjoy recreational activities (or at least will after Trump appoints more Supreme Court justices), there are some certain fundamental values that it bestows on all of us. Especially the original 10. Our constitution is still alive and well. It's just that a few minor exceptions have been made.


                Some have exceptions though. For example:

                3rd amendment: No soldiers stationed in homes. May be somewhat obsolete at this point, but hey! At least it isn't currently being infringed!


                4th amendment. "The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated... and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."


                Well.. I guess that only counts if you're not doing anything illegal. Since the Supreme Court ruled that cops can now retroactively legalize illegal searches if they find something bad you did later. But hey, us True Christians are perfect so we should still be protected!

I'm pretty sure that's what the founders had in mind when they wrote the fourth amendment.

                6. Fair and speedy trial. Trials are totally fair in the sense that they justly give people rich enough to afford fancy lawyers preferential treatment! it's capitalism and you get what you pay for, just like buying a car or a house or anything else. It doesn't get any more fair than that.


                7th Amendment: in a case exceeding $20, you have the right to a trial by jury. This one may be a little obsolete due to inflation.


                8th amendment : Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted.


                We totally have the right to not be cruel or unusually punished! We just have to redefine "cruel" a little. Look at how bad what Muslims are doing.                 9. The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.


                Unless that right involves socialism or universal healthcare or something. Never mind that 70% of people want that to be a right. It's not happening. That's probably the exception that the founders forgot to mention.


                10th. Power not explicitly defined by the constitution goes with the states and not the federal government.


                Ordinarily I am in favor of this but there are some exceptions that override my normal small government principles eg. The Federal government raiding medical marijuana. In those cases it's okay.




                2nd amendment: The absolute right given by God that cannot be infringed. Doesn't matter if you're a suspected terrorist ( https://www.pbs.org/newshour/nation/...and-other-faqs ) , or mentally ill, or would fail a criminal background check ( https://www.cnbc.com/2019/08/05/nra-...heck-laws.html ).


                The reason this right is so important is because it protects all of our rights! Which it seems like this might be the only definitive one at the moment but that's okay because it's the most important one! I'm positive that the founders were huddled around a table drafting the constitution saying "Why should we allow people to have guns? So they can protect their right to have guns, obviously". How else would we stop the government from taking our guns? Anything else would be government tyranny.

                If it weren't for this blessed and inspiring constitution, we'd just be crazy people willing to kill law enforcement and start wars over our gun hobby. Because of it, we're supporters of the constitution and revolutionists willing to stand up for the founding principles of America and against government jackbooted thugs.
                Close minded people are just right people who don't want to spend time arguing.

                    Yes, that's a very important legal point. It's only spying if the person being spied on can prove it . Nixon would have been totally innocent had he just not let his cronies get discovered. The onus is on the person being spied on to do their own research. It's not our government's responsibility to reveal or investigate that they're breaking the law.

                      Recruiting policy ensures only the most adept are employed I'd have thought and anyway if it didn't the incompetent ones would soon be dissolved in acid or fed to the crocodiles or whatever happens in this arena. Is the security of a president to rely on hostile powers providing a list of active spies in their target nation? Perhaps those requiring foreknowledge of foreign agents would also request transcripts of all their conversations? Because you can bet they're recording everything and reverse engineering like there's no tomorrow. Which, if idiotic challenges to security are entertained, there won't be.

                          If we look back a few years, we can see the political genius of Donald Trump has been apparent forever. Back before what we call politely the "ef bomb" was part of everyday conversation among non Christians, the President was using if freely. This allowed Trump, a Christian, to establish his bonafides with the secular community. The Apostle Paul advised Christians to do this in 1 Corinthians 9. Paul told followers he is a Jew among Jews and so on.

                          By using the street language of sinners the President is converting them by the thousands. God bless you, President Trump.

                              Voting and Election Laws vary between countries as do penalties for not voting but in order to rule over men in the fear of God it is first necessary to get elected. Things to do (and to avoid) are set out in legislation, updated from time to time, and need to be complied with.
