These were priorities for Joshua too. And one way to achieve that would be the scorched earth policy. But Joshua did something else. He wanted to target transgression and sought to understand territory he may not have been familiar with. As any responsible leader knows to do. This is what Joshua did:

If ever a place was stuffed full of false religions, Jericho was that place. God knew they would contaminate His people and Rahab knew that too. There are parallels with modern America here. To eliminate sources of cultural pollution, eradicate false beliefs & protect borders. There are leaders of nations (as opposed to ragbag assortments of petty criminals) who specifically target America using the resources of State to further their cunning plan. Actually, transparent and obvious plan but they think they're cunning. Thought. Thought they were cunning. Which Rahab knew too. There are many reasons why she was the ideal confidente in this case. Wisdom enables leaders to discern those reasons.

The LORD tells us marriage is between one man and one woman (Genesis 2:24), one man and his wives (Genesis 4:19; 26:34; 31:17; Exodus 21:10; Deuteronomy 21:15; Judges 8:30; 1 Samuel 1:1-2; 1 Chronicles 4:5), one man and his wives and his concubines (Genesis 25:6; 1 Kings 11:2-3; 2 Chronicles 11:21), one man and his wife and her property (Genesis 16:1-4), one man and his brother's widow (Genesis 38:6-10), one man and the woman he rapes (Deuteronomy 22:28-29), one man who is a soldier for the LORD and his prisoners of war (Numbers 31: 1-18; Deuteronomy 21:11-14), one man and the child slave his father purchases at a fair price (Exodus 21:7-11).

Your advice would be helpful, not personally you understand, but in a general sense all those categories of marriage. And let's face it God was directing these lives and many of the individuals are held up as examples of righteousness and as men of faith. There are other people who are described as more-or-less heathen wretches whose antics God overlooked due to their ignorance or due to coming from an unenlightened society or something like that. I'm not referring to those. I'm referring to the paragons presented by God as held high in His esteem. Within those marriages were all parties married to one another? Or was only the husband participating in a plural marriage?

Perhaps I should ask one of The Pastors but it seems rather trivial for them or they may think I'm backsliding and you seem to have looked into the question a little more than me. Thanks, Mary.

When capturing slaves, their previous owners being heathens with no moral compass and worshipping foul idols as they would have been, they would in many cases have condoned such relationships or.—.as we see among heathens today.—.actively encouraged them. It revolts me to think of the re-education that would be necessary for their new owners but if they were promoted from slave to concubine, without becoming married, and were slow learners surely there'd be occasional problems?

In the case of Solomon's wives, what they did was not condoned. God was particularly unhappy about that: the punishment would be severe. How his concubines related to Solomon is not described but in any event they were not in a same sex marriage because they were not married at all. What either king did in their company is not described. Their children were legitimate however.

Again I find it hard to imagine 300 little cubicles draped with carpets or scattered with satin quilts, Solomon popping in and out, number 296 perhaps feeling a little miffed when 297 was entertaining while 295 kaboshed herself with opium. Genesis 1:29 It all seems too seedy for someone as magnificent as King Solomon! My uncertainty is that although these were legitimate relationships, the wives are clearly distinguished from the concubines. Whether Solomon behaved correctly is another matter but that has little bearing on the logistics or how concubines were related to one another.

4. Exactly how or in what combinations the concubines attended to their owner is not spelled out. The wives persisted with foulness and Solomon went along with that. God decided severity was called for, blasting Solomon's son I Kings 11:11-12 but leaving a remnant, in His mercy.

Good point. The fact is, anything is possible with a God Who Can Do Anything! Why are people so determined to assume the worst, except that the ways of the Light-Walker are confusing and confounding to them. I pray they just keep quiet and watch how this plays out, and they will see the Hand of God in all of this!

I think we True Christians™ need to ignore all the media hype about the night President Trump spent with Stormy Daniels. We need to step back and take an objective look at the facts.

Leviticus 25:14 tells us if you make a transaction with you neighbor you shall not wrong each other. It seems clear that President Trump offered Miss Daniels money for their time together but she declined. Then, just before he was elected President, an attorney for Donald gave Miss Daniels $130,000. There is little doubt it was payment to her so she would not discuss the enjoyable night she spent with the President.

Miss Daniels now points out, correctly, that the Presidents name is not on the agreement and she can tell the press about their night together. That seems in keeping with Leviticus 25:14. The President, also in keeping with Lev.25:14, has paid her adequately for their pleasure. Both of them remain true to the Bible.

If we simply follow the Bible, this entire kerfuffle is much to do about nothing.
