First They Came for AIG Bonuses
It's just outrageous. Patriotic, hardworking AIG executives have done a tremendous job for our country. Thanks to Wall Street billionaires, golf courses and yacht manufacturers all over America have prospered. Thanks to our corporate executives, Gulf Stream Jets dot the skies! Trickle-down economics has kept a whole army of K Street lobbyists employed. And this is not even to mention all the jobs created in offshore banking and the tax avoidance industry. It brings a patriotic lump to my throat just to think about it.
But now, all this is threatened. Just because AIG execs made one little mistake and caused the company to go bankrupt and receive $85 billion in government bailout money is no excuse to deny them their constitutional rights!
The Demoncrats just passed a bill to tax AIG executives 90% (90%!) of their taxpayer-financed bonuses! This is communism! It's against our constitution. If it's allowed to stand, no rich person will be safe. Before you know it, the government will try to raise the capital gains tax, reinstate the death tax, etc. You can see where this is going!
And of course, Osambo is going to waste all these new tax dollars on idiotic things like health care and education, while starving the military and prisons. What will become of Halliburton and Blackwater? Will Raytheon be able to sell their new pain ray machine? Will Dow Chemical see their napalm sales dry up? How will their CEOs survive without government-financed bonuses? Before you know it, they'll be out on the streets, begging for money to buy gas for their limos.
It just brings a tear to my eye.
