Should prostitution be legalized?

I know it may sound bit odd, but I have been pondering this verse from the good old book for quite some time.

Isaiah 23:17-18
And it shall come to pass after the end of seventy years, that the LORD will visit Tyre, and she shall turn to her hire, and shall commit fornication with all the kingdoms of the world upon the face of the earth.
And her merchandise and her hire shall be holiness to the LORD: it shall not be treasured nor laid up; for her merchandise shall be for them that dwell before the LORD, to eat sufficiently, and for durable clothing.


I know this verse is about Tyre, but I think it applies to everyday life as well. Prostitution should be legal under supervision of the church, and revenue collected from the prostitutes should be used to buy food and quality clothes for True Christians™.

I can't think any other as fair and equal to supervise this trade than our fine pastors in Landover Baptist Church.

You may be on to something, there.

Perhaps women who's husband have recently died could be recruited to fullfill this role? That way the can still be productive.

That is an excellent idea. It would finally allow little girls to be productive instead of just costing money and insulting adults with their stupidity. I would be more than willing to train those little girls to become prostitutes in a way Jesus approves.

And there clearly is scripture to back this up. In Hosea 1:2 God tells Hosea to pick up a whore as wife. A clear case of try before you buy if you ask me. My only worry would be 1 Kings 22 where whores bathed in Ahab's blood. I don't think this should be allowed with church approved whores.

I think the most Godly way would be to offer the foetus up as burnt offering as did Jephthah with his daughter (see Judges 11:29-40).

What you would need to do is to ask God for something you or your family or even a close friend (God tells us His views on genourosity: Acts 20:35 I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.) would like to have and offer the growing feotus as an offering. As soon as God shows His genourosity it is a signal He demands repaying.

It would be important to read the Bible (KJV1611) to the pregnant woman's tummybump so the feotus's have no excuse for not believing in God.

I know this is similar sounding to abortion but it is the exactly the opposite: after all it worked wonders for Jephthah

This way the women can be productive; True Christians (tm) can have a few odds and ends they always wanted, God gets His sacrifice and the foetuses may or may not go to Heaven depending on thier choice (maintaining free will).

There is of course the ethical side of this. I was thinking that we would obtain unsaved thrash for these jobs, but I tend to forget that even unsaved trash may have feelings too.

I'm not sure they do: being sodomised constantly must be excruciatingly painful but they don't seem to mind.

That's not the half of it: they don't even recognise people as people with emotions and feelings, hopes and dreams (being dead inside themselves).

For example: from my study window I have a good view of the quiet leafy lane near where I live and I happened to see a hit and run where a cyclist was knocked off the road and into a tree. He must have been unconscious because he didn't move for ages: anyway, I digress.

Nobody came to this fellows aid! He lay there for at least 40 minutes!

Proof (if proof be need be) that atheist have no morality.

I wish I knew what happened to him but I went to make a cup of tea and his was gone when I got back.

I think as long as the prostitute does not have a father or is from Israel it should be fine.

I think Unsaved Trash would probably be the best bet for this; Because all Unsaved Trash Fathers are surly dead (massive drug users/overdose.) But once again I am just a naive woman, the Brethren would need to confirm this.
