    Templeton’s Christian Logic Quiz

Bobby and Christian just became friends with Tom, and they want to visit him today on his farm. Today is July the 18th.

When they arrive on his farm, they find a dead slave. A few minutes later Tom sees both his friend looking at the dead slave. He tells them that the slave died today, but 10 possible dates of when he strike the slave:

    May

    15
    16
    19

    June

    17

    18

    July
    14
    16

    August
    14
    15
    17

Tom then tells Bobby and Christian separately the month and the day of the beating respectively.

Bobby: I don't know when Tom beat this slave, but I know that Christian doesn't know too.

Christian: At first I don't know when he did it, but I know now.

Albert: Then I also know it. According to
Exodus 21:20-21 we can’t punish Tom for what he did.

So when did Tom beat his slave?

    Re: Templeton’s Christian Logic Quiz

Oh my goodness, Brother Titus, that is so difficult that I don't know where to start.

My boys are all (except for the babies) out at a swimming gala so I'll show them this when they get back. In the meantime, I showed it to Hannah (6) who said:

    1. Today is not July 18th, it is July 25th. Does this matter?
    2. If he died in July then it can't have been any of the August dates, unless it was August last year. Would anyone keep a beaten slave alive for that long? Maybe he was just malingering.
    3. Who is Albert?

      Re: Templeton’s Christian Logic Quiz

      Brother Titus,

This is most intriguing! As it is still July, it is most peculiar that some of the possible dates are in the Future. This makes your quizz most challenging from the Biblical viewpoint.

Before we can consider the date we should know if Bobby, Albert and Christian are True™ of false prophets.

      Matthew 7:15
Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

If they are, in fact, false prophets, we have to exclude the August dates which would obviously help us along. I'd say that at least Albert is a false prophet as he is named after Mr. Prince Albert Piercing, Esq., which opposes Leviticus 19:28.

I dare say that Bobby and Christian COULD be True™ prophets and the answer is thus between April 2 and July 29. I'm correct, aren't I?

      Matthew 10:41
He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward.

I'll try to pinpoint the date with more prayer.

      Yours in Christ,

      Elmer

As True Christians™ are perfect, all of your answers were perfect.

Matthew 5:48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

I give prayers and reputition points to both answers.

I admit the quiz is deep as the ocean from a biblical and phylosophical point of view. But only a True Christian™ can always find the right answer whatever his answer is.

Hannah has now eliminated August 17th if it was last year because that was a Sunday.

This is especially difficult because we do not know the nature of the injuries inflicted. Thus it is difficult to imagine how long they took to take full effect.

I think this is more of a "gut reaction" question. Most of the time I ask myself what George Bush would say. He didn't go in for a lot a fancy talking, he was more of a straight-shooter. I'll try this now. I'll just type what my gut tells me.

So Bobby and Jill blah blah blah... Oh God I forgot the question... Bad guys, America, taxes.... no it was something about Bobby....Bobby who? Times up.. just finish strong. My point it, you won't trick us again. Mission accompllshed, I'm gonna nuke the MOON. USA USA USA!!!
If I have seen further, it is by standing on the heads of others.

How do we even know the cause of this slave's demise? Isn't it likely he drank himself to death?

                  Re: Templeton’s Christian Logic Quiz

The answer is clear; 16th of July.

Bobby & Christian did not complain of the stench which would surely be atrocious had the slave been dead for more than a couple of days, and since August is in the future, they could not have seen the slave dead then. Furthermore, Tom is clearly a good Christian who would not violate the laws of Exodus. Therefore, the slave by necessity would have had to have lived for a day to satisfy the minimum requirements of Exodus 21:20-21.
Psalm 137:9 Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones.
