He had 72 sons and not 70 as many people think. Judges 9 tells more of the story as Abimelech and his brother Jotham were born after the other 70 were slain!

That is a tricky one, especially if one has only read up to Judges 8!

Was he 16/17yrs old? I worked it out based on how old Abraham was when he was born and then how old Abraham was when Isaac was born and added 2ish years for weaning of Isaac.

Sarah gets angry and tells Abraham he has to abandon his son and concubine. Abraham feels bad, but God tells him to go ahead and abandon his child and her mother. This time the man is supposed to listen to the woman.

Going back to Gen 16:16
Abram was eighty-six years old when Hagar bore him Ishmael.

Moving forward to Gen 21:5
And Abraham was an hundred years old, when his son Isaac was born unto him.

Now back to Gen 21:15-18 When the water in the skin was gone, she put the boy under one of the bushes.
