Well the way I look at it, it does say we can be saved through child-bearing, so I'm assuming we have a soul. Also, I think it's better to assume that we are going to Heaven, otherwise why would God give us so many rules to live by. If we're wrong, then we die and that is it, better to bet on safety.

That's such a good point, Sister!

Even if it turns out we women don't have souls and nothing happens to us when we die and it turns out there was absolutely nothing for us to gain by following all of His commandments, then at least we can say we played it safe.
"Whether of them twain did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you. For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him." Re: Do woman have a soul?

I think women, even though they have no soul, can still go to Heaven. They just have very limited rights and basically have to serve the needs of man for all of eternity.

I think it would be too cruel to make them ALL go to Hell.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

I know -- they're women, they should agree when a man like you tells them what to think, right?

Sorry, buddy, True Christian(tm) women don't live on your liberal plantation, thanking Mister Massah for his kindness. They have a mind of their own.

Re: Do woman have a soul?

It has come up in many intellectual circles that when a woman bears a male baby in her baby oven, that she has a soul at that moment. And once the child is born a piece of that soul remains with her and this is how a woman earns her soul. Some even postulate that if a woman has enough soldiers for Christ that all those soul pieces will combine to make a single soul and when she does go to Heaven she will be remade as a man because she has a complete soul. Something to consider, ladies.

I can see your point. For a person's, even a woman's, soul to be Saved.. it makes sense for one to be there for the Saving.

I see you have not the faintest idea of the theology behind this question, nor have you made it past Genesis:1

                  The Creation of Man:
Ge:2:7: And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

                  The Creation of Woman:
                  Ge:2:21: And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;
Ge:2:22: And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
Ge:2:23: And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
Ge:2:24: Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

Now, we know from the Hebrew that the immortal soul is described as Breath - (obviously "of God") and we see that Eve has no Godly "breath of life in her nostrils."

You can assume all you want about whether women have souls, but where is your Biblical Proof???

Scriptural proof or you get marked down as an idiot.

The New Testament, AFAIK, makes mention of people being Saved(tm) not souls. If the word "soul" is used, could it not be that it is used in the sense of "There were 68 souls lost at sea when the ship went down"? This does not mean that the "souls were lost" - only God would know that. Souls = people.

As unsaved trash I can only theorize, but when woman was made from man, wouldn't the breath of God have been the same breath that filled her? It doesn't specifically say that he breathed into her, but it says they were same "bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh". My apologies if I am out of line.

Now, I speculate that, seein how the first woman was made from a little part of a man, then they probly only got a little part of his soul too. I can't claim to know the LORD's thinkin (No Sir!) but maybe a herd of twenny or thirty women might be equal to one man soul.

                            Dear Friend,

Saintly Pastor Pistle taught me that an average woman had a soul 2/3 of the size of an average man's soul. I agree with you that in this, he may have been a feminist. Still and all, the finest man ever to shoot something off my head.

I think lot of trouble and dissension has been caused by people "speculating on what God meant. God meant what He said, if He had "breathed into Eve" He would have said so.

You're lack of Biblical knowledge, is appaling! I have never seen worse - God does NOT want us to "Love one another" He wants us to love fellow Christians - From what I see, you are not Christian and therefore, He hates you.

A wise point, and one much debated since the 11th century. It is indeed a generous and well-supported view!
