What is DoF?

The Department of Faith, the spiritual discernment arm of the Landover Baptist Church. You need to be cleared by them. The town of Freehold, Iowa, is a gated community. Access is by invitation only. You can't get in, and no True Christian(tm) man would let his daughter leave town to marry someone the DOF isn't sure about. Give up on the notion of marrying a Freehold woman.

Read your Bible, get to know it inside and out. Lead a righteous life and I'm sure God will provide you with a wife -- from your own area!

Brother Pim was gracious enough to explain to you what DoF is. "To pass something with flying colors" is an idiomatic expression. You should really consider a few dates with a dictionary before even thinking to go out with an American girl. Watching furriners stumble on the nuances of our beautiful language can be fun as a form of entertainment, but 24/7 at home? Thanks, but no thanks.

Yes, English is beautiful language, no doubt.
But Hungarian is the most beautiful language in the world.
And Hungary is the most noble nation in whole Europe, but maybe in whole world.

We came here to where we live in 9th century. We came here as free nation and we always respected the Freedom. We never conquered anyone like russians or germans. We always respected the freedom of other nations as well.

When we took our place here, we didn't kill the people and countries who lived here before us. We lived together as Brothers. We became "multi-national" nation.

For example, Americans killed the indians there. We hungarians were more nobles. With the little nations who lived here before us, we dealed them as Brothers. We respected their freedom, their language and cultures.
Today, there is no Slovakia, Romania or Croatia, if we didn't do this.

We suffered much during our history. We loosed 67% of our territory in Trianon 1920.

Europe could raise continously, because we hungarians defended Europe from the Turkeys for more centuries.
The turkeys could destroy whole Europe, but we stopped them.
And as Americans came from Europe to America, there is no America, if we weren't.

We hungarians were the "Shield" of Europe.

You're right, but not completely.
Joining to Austria was very bad idea.
Understanding the cause why we did this is not easy. Until 1867 we were Free.
The austrians always wanted to conquer us, they wanted to build an empire, conquiring smaller neightbour countries such as we.
We always forced to fight against them, defending our independency, our freedom. We had to revolt, protecting our own country, the Freedom.
We revolted in 1703 (Rákóczy), 1848.

After these, after realizing, that Austrians cannot conquer us with force, they tried to use another method to do this.
In the second half of 19th century they started to sophisticate our past, our history. They started to give us to believe that we are insignificant, little country, weak and small.
They sophisticate our history books, and unfortunately hungarians started to believe that we need Austrians to develope and modernize our country.
Then in 1867 we made federal with them, and we created the Austrian-Hungarian Empire with them.
But we never were equals. They ruled us, their empire Franz Joseph gave us prime ministers from his followers.
In this empire, we never made decision, the Austrians ruled. This was their empire, not ours.

This is why we took the wrong side in the first world war.
After this war, the Empire was destroyed. Then in 1920, in Trianon, the Entente nations sliced us, and we loosed 2/3 of our territory and much of our people.

So these were not our fault.
Austrians did everything. And they failed.

Since then, since Trianon, we couldn't rise again.

After Austrians, we had to suffer from the Russins and communist rule.

But read about, what we did in 23th of October 1956.
This day, we could show to the world, that we are living, and we are still brave to defend our Freedom.

And if you allow me to show something.
Search and read about the Battle of Pressburg, our great victory in 907.

Our hero, Szondi György, Drégely, 1552.
Our great King, Matthew against turkeys in Kenyérmező 1479,
one of our greatest battle leader Hunyadi János.

And my favorite great King 4th Béla, how he vanquished the mongols and raised our country from the death.

Finally, I sincerely respect America, too. You won both of the World wars, that was great. Your first presidents were great, too, I don't know them too much, but I think they were true christians(am I right? I don't know.)

The good folk at Landover Baptist know everything they need to know about the Magyars from my own sad story. When I was quite young, a mere foolish child, I disobeyed my dear father and made the dreadful mistake of marrying a Hungarian. He abandoned me and our 8 children.

Hungarians are notoriously untrustworthy. Their fat-and-paprika-based cuisine is unhealthy, the climate is fit only for peasants and they seem to make up their gibberish language as they go along. The standard of their English is simply dreadful.

Frankly, dear, if you are seriously looking for a wife, then perhaps you should look elsewhere? I cannot believe that any True Christian(TM) father would permit his daughter to leave Freehold for Bucharest, and your chances of being admitted into Freehold are not looking good, are they?

Try reading about the CIA's involvement in Central and South America 1950-1990, the origins of American involvement in VietNam, US government support for the repressive regimes in the Middle East (who set up both Saddam Hussein AND the Shah of Iran? one guess...), let alone the pact Roosevelt and Churchill made with Stalin that resulted in the occupation of your own country for almost half a century. "Freedom and independence"? More like "profit margins" and "market share".

Have you no shame to talk about God's favorite nation like that? Everything America does is for freedom. We killed Chilean president Allende (1973) for freedom. We established a cocaine mafia as Bolivian government (1981) for freedom. We established the School of the Americas (currently called the Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation), which trains Latin American military in torture and guerilla warfare, for freedom. We trained Osama bib Laden for freedom. We killed him for freedom. All dictators we've established around the world, it was all for freedom.
