Sometimes I despair of such as you, who think that a mere mortal is comparable to Jesus! I think you just did a search for the word “Wept” and threw that out here!

Let me tell you that there is a world of a difference between blubbering and screaming like a drama llama, slavering and drooling, wailing and moaning without control and what Our Lord Jesus did when he “groaned in the spirit.”

A slight amount of moisture may have reached His Perfect Eyes, but this was not “crying” like a girl bereft of all logical thought! – No, this was the very essence of His Compassion!

Joh:11:33: When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled,
Joh:11:34: And said, Where have ye laid him? They said unto him, Lord, come and see.
Joh:11:35: Jesus wept.

He saw her weeping, correct? and so He wept as well! I am not saying He cried like a kid over a toy or a sweet, but I never said it either.... I said shed a tear remember? If Jesus did it, I think it is ok if men do it.

The woman was bawling, Christ's eyes were moist probably from the state that this woman had gotten herself into, yet he was in control - he was Himself, not some pathetic wailing woman or crying man who believed the situation was hopeless!

Jesus knew the situation was not hopeless and, like a real man, came up with a simple solution - raise Lazarus from the dead.

Now just fix in your mind the woman's actions and Jesus's actions - you see the difference? This is not crying and that is what this thread is about!

Calling Jesus a limp-wristed homer is not going to improve your chances of meeting Him!

"Weep" doesn't necessarily mean "to cry." The dictionary tells us that it also means "to exude water or liquid." So Jesus was exuding water or liquid. In other words, He was sweating, which is quite manly. Now shut your pie hole.

Jesus is something of a special case. First try multiplying fish and raising people from the dead, and if you can get the hang of that then I'll admit you may be able to cry in a masculine way.

John 11:35. "Jesus wept"

"Weep" in the King James Bible doesn't mean blubbering like a sissy. That's a modern sense of the word, so the word wasn't used like that in 1611 when the Bible was written.

Here is the definition from the Webster 1828 Dictionary:

Weep: To express sorrow, grief or anguish by outcry. This is the original sense. But in present usage, to manifest and express grief by outcry or by shedding tears.

Just so there are no misunderstandings about "outcry", here is the definition of that word from the Webster 1828 Dictionary:

Outcry: A vehement or loud cry; cry of distress. Clamor; noisy opposition or detestation.

Men express grief by yelling and screaming, tearing our clothes, putting ashes on our heads, and wearing sackcloth (Esther 4:1) -- not by boo-hooing and sobbing like some mama's boy.
