how can you people believe this? i mean, you're treating your women like a piece of furniture! what about the basic tenants of christianity of loving and caring for one another wholeheartedly, treating others as you would want to be treated? how can you treat someone you love (i assume you love your wives, or else why would you marry them) like they need to be disciplined like a child? sure, if it were a child by all means punish them (i still disagree on the spanking though) but a grown woman should have just as many freedoms as a man, and husband and wife should love and take care of one another, not punish them! and where in the bible does it say that you should do this?? and of course i'm sure you all can pull out a bible and point out exactly where it says that you can punish your wife for sinning, but husband and wife should talk about things, not resort to physical and mental punishment.
And mind you, the bible was written how long ago? society changes, and you can't go by the bible word for word when it was written in a totally different era in which many aspects are not applicable. the way you are treating your women are probably how i imagine muslim extremists treat their wives. you people need to learn to not take everything so freaking seriously, and just have joy in life. one small sin isn't going to send you to hell.

Now, I don't know much about this site at all, I was linked to this page from another site, and i quickly registered and posted this response. But from what i have read, you guys are pretty hardcore christians, and extremism in any way is just a horrible thing. By the way, I'm an atheist, but I'm a good person, treat others with respect, and if there were a heaven, I'd definitely go there. god doesn't care if you believe in him, he cares if you lived a good life. religions need to realize that. if there is a god, how can there be so many religions? ill tell you. its all the same god, and muslims, jews, homo's would all get into heaven, because god only cares if you were good. why would he care about all the tiny nitpicky rules? he doesn't. btw, mentioning i was an atheist probably got me a permanent ban, but i dont care, i hope i never meet any of you, you sound like boring, whiney, super-conservative, hate-filled, close-minded fools.

I am afraid for all off your souls. I don't belive that Jesus has ever beaten a women or a child, so I belive that you shouldn't also. I don't belive in Jewish part of the Bible, I just don't care about it. They don't believe in Jesus so I don't trust them.

The Old Testament is not "Jewish". Jesus says we have to follow the entire Bible, and that if you remove so much as the stroke of a pen from it you won't get into heaven.

And Jesus may not have beaten any women or children while He was on Earth, but have you read the Book of Revelation? Jesus has some awesome plans for punishing the inhabitants of the Earth who don't obey Him, and yes, this includes most of the women and children in the world.

The KJV Bible is to be interpreted word for word. If one part of the Bible is inaccurate then that makes the rest fallible which means that God is then fallible which is simply not true. Man is to be the head of the home and he is responsible for making his wife understand how to be a good Christian and showing her the way, even if it involves a good corrective measure.

Although hitting has never been my thing, a good hour or 2 in a locked closet in paryer usually helps my wife see the error of her ways.

I tried everything to resolve my wifes fascination with (as she puts it "Water Splashing'). I've banned her from the shower, banned her from the tub (the paramedics were nearly unable to get the faucet out). My solution is to monthly (when the curse ends) tie her to a wall and use buckets of pure deep well water thrown at her. I usually leave her tied up there over night to bask in the glow of our Lords moon to dry, having one the other girls untying her in time to get her morning chores done before I wake and expect my breakfast. Another plus is I save a lot on the hot water bill. God likes those that save.

Since when is a baby in a womans stomach? If it was, she would defecate it out. A baby is below her stomach. And nothing will ever happen to a unborn baby, God would never allow it. Unless the child was destined to be evil spawn. God protects the good babies, sends the bad ones to Hell or saves them for heathen parents.

Are you guys sick, if you were to be caught masterbating would you want to be spanked and restricted. God created every human with free will and it was Satan who did not want humans to have that oppertunity. By forcing her to be observed while she showers and dictate what she can do you take away her free will. You have no right to punish your wife because you have no right to speak for god, only the son of god jesus could do that. Also beating your wife by punching her in her stomach area will hurt your unborn child. God can not protect your unborn child if you are stupid and try to harm it just like god would not be able to save your unborn child if your wife had an abortion, which seems no worse then what you are doing because you are putting the baby in harms way.
