You seem to be lacking a sense of humor. Is it everyone in your town or just you? My pranks usually only occur on Mischief Day here in our town. That is always Oct 30, and it's all in good fun. The first time I went down the street to the dairy and got a small bag of manure and hid it in his truck. It smelled really bad, and he had no idea why. It was days before he found it. That was completely harmless, though the next year may not have been, as he explained to me. He said blacking out his sunglasses could have made him have a wreck, but I truly didn't think about that. Anyhow, I told him I was sorry. This Friday, I haven't decided what to do. He will be expecting something, for sure. Maybe a rubber snake in his lunchbox for a laugh, or perhaps a fake bill showing my shopping spree for $5000, I don't know.

My husband is out of town right now on a business trip, which is why I have all this time on my hands. I need to start working on making popcorn balls for the trick-or-treaters, but I can start it tomorrow. I frequently feel like I don't have enough do during the day, so I've spent a lot of time just surfing the net. I know, not very constructive...

I wouldn't exactly say I'm sassy and irreverent. More like independent. Why is that a bad thing? As far as these episodes you are referring to, God gave us emotions because he knew we would need them. I am perfectly capable of exercising self control when called for, but not when I'm at home. I'm not a child, but the type of treatment you and these other guys are talking about is for small children.

Thank you Pastor for stepping in and opening my eyes. I got so caught up in trying to understand this nut job that I lost track of where I was. I both pity and am insulted by this womens husband. I pity him for having to have a severly disturbed person to come home to. I am insulted by his obviously being a Homer in the Military. I guess they deserve each other. Thank God and goodness there will be no reproduction from them!

In Ephesians 5, I understand that women should submit to their husbands. But doesn't it also say for men to love their wives as Christ loves the church?
I didnt see Jesus going around beating sense into people because they were out of line. He would correct them, but he wouldn't beat them up.

I agree with you, James, on how you act. But I cannot say the same for some of you other men earlier in this forum... Pastor Ezekiel, a seven iron? That is a terrible thing to say about your future wife!

My experience, with all of the women I have "known", is that spanking, if administered correctly, can be a very positive tool to afect changes in behavior. Indeed it can, in and of itself, become a reward, the withholding of which can bring about desired behaviors or changes to undesirable behaviors or mindsets. I cannot, however, advocate for the use of anything other than a bare hand on a bare bottom. The results are yours to discover for yourselves.

That a few innocuous comments would have generated such hostility is truly remarkable. I pose as noone, including fly larvae. Nor have I said anything patently offensive or threatening to anyone. Nor is that my intention. I am simply here to learn what I may from the learned Christians of the LBC and, thanks to all who have reacted to my posted thoughts thus far, the examples set for me have been educational indeed.

And I am quite indebted to you for what I've already learned, not that you meant to teach.

I am not a Baptist, I am a Catholic. However, I found Brother Christianson's and Pastor Ezekiel's words and call to all real men to be refreshing and true to The Word. I too believe in domestic discipline and would never stand for the treatment and/or actions of most of these so called liberated women of today! These women are truly lost and wandering in the dark. I believe that most of them are secretly searching for someone that will take control of his home and family then guide and train them as well. All you have to do is look and see how they have let themselves become unfit, become completely unattractive and dress like men instead of like the fine feminine creatures they were meant to be by birth. These women either have no men in their lives or the ones they are with are momma's boys from broken or convoluted homes where no strong man lived to influence them as they were growing up. My house is a controlled and disciplined house and NEVER have I been embarrassed by what guests saw or how they were treated when they entered my home. Amen Brothers keep the faith alive!

Pardon me Brothers for stepping in here, but I just HAD to say something.

When Pastor Zeke spanks me or smacks me upside the head for burning his steak or talking out of turn I feel deeply loved.

It shows me he cares enough about me to show me the error of my ways. After such "corrections" I always try harder to do the right thing and please him and GOD!

It makes me sad to read this, it is the same behavior a child exhibits when it gets abused .. If you asked a child what was worst:
1: that mother beat the child or
2: that mother ignores the child

The child would answer: that mother ignores me, because when mom beats me, she shows that she likes me, she takes the time to myself, if only to beat me.

this is abnormal and self-destructive behavior ..

no neither children nor women should live under conditions where they are beaten ..
