Why would I do that? When my husband, Mr. Whitford, disciplines me, it's because I did something to deserve it so I take my punishment with appropriate gratitude and humility.

Isn't that a bit weird, given that you're an adult? You punish children because they don't know any better, surely as a grown up you're capable of that kind of thing yourself instead of needing a husband to beat you?

My husband is head of me just like Christ is head of my husband (1Cor 11:7). If my husband were to do wrong (sin), Jesus would punish him (John 5:14, Rom 1:18), so it's only right that if I do wrong, my husband punishes me.

We are to be servants to God. In the KJV servant translates as slave. Women are to submit and serve their husbands as they would God. It's pretty simple if you actually read it.

Actually the original Hebrew and Greek manuscripts are much different. In Hebrew, the word "submit" does not mean to be a servant or slave. It means to support. And the verse before that it says that the wife and husband are to "submit" to EACH OTHER. Meaning to support one another and do things for each other. The King James Version has quite a few interesting words they use in place of the original Hebrew and Greek, so people take them out of context all the time. Since the King's translators didn't know what words to use in place of the Hebrew text, sometimes they inserted their own. Marriages are built on love, as Christ loves us.
