  • Re: Overwatch: Overdue For A Ban!

    Ah. I see.

Well, there it is. Justification, and I still get the title of sinner.

I see no flaws in my argument, and I still remain happy that I haven't been proven wrong. And yet, and yet...

You miss the point that another heavily believer is backing me up here. So, uh... Should he denounce his faith because he believes fun is alright?

Please, fill me in, because it's making the world sound very dull.

    I thank you.

I have removed the parts of your rambling missive that are not germane to any issue of interest to this august body, namely, topics involving salvation and praise. Now, we can see revealed your true spiritual condition. You are raised up by a false Christian father and thus have been kept from knowing Jesus. You lack the understanding that the Bible is the inerrant word of Almighty God. Who cares how much time has passed? Your father has given you the example of accepting his sister's lesbianism. That is a terrible failure.

It is no wonder that you are unsaved. Open your heart to Jesus, fellow. It's that or Hell. Don't go there;it's too hot.

Hi, My name is Aleksandra and I'm new to this forum and I just wanted to say a little about myself. I grew up in northern Virginia and i still live there with my mother, My father left when i as five, he ran off with another woman. On weekends I work at a nice little antique shop that sells all kinds of nice christian goods, while during the week I work at the local Target. My mother is an extremely devout christian, and she raised me according to her beliefs. I am not as devout as she is, although I still consider myself a good christian. I have read some of the posts here on this thread, and although I don't read the bible every day, when there is time away from work, usually before bed, and when I feel the need to I do read the bible, although it is not a new one, it is an old one, from when my Great Great Grandmother moved here from Russia, so i do not know if it is a current one or up to date with modern standings. I Graduated last year, although I am planning on going to college when I turn twenty so I can stay and support my mother. I can play Piano and I can speak fluent English and Japanese, as I plan on moving there when my mother dies. So I hope to become a welcomed member of this loving and devout community, and learn things that will help me in the future.
        Yours Truly, Aleksandra

          Hey, bud.

So. You've just given me the reason as to why I'm an agnostic. "False Christian"? That's more comedic than a Charlie Chaplin movie!

I know nobody more devoted than him, but he has the mind set to leave people be. They're happy. Should he interfere?

Put it this way. Imagine a child is playing with a toy train. He's happy. You don't like that train's face, so you snatch it away. Now he is sad and quite possibly hates you.

Just don't interfere with others and their happiness. That's what I'm saying.

Also, don't condemn my aunt or my father. They are their own person.

I happen to enjoy the heat and frankly, I don't give a toss where I end up. Now, a merry hat tip and a polite smile to you.

I sense the incoming hate towards my family.

          Humour me.

You want you (or your unnamed "friend") to be considered "heavy" believers here??

Git gud, nub!! Read the Bible.

What faith? Does he do what the Bible tells him to do? If not, Jesus says don't waste your breath:

Matthew 7:21 "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven."

              Oh my.

              You.

              You humoured me.

My unnamed friend is my father, who has read the bible from beginning to end several times. And when did I say I was a heavy believer? HE'S the one with the beliefs here.

              Also, "git gud, nub"?

I think I may have just died of laughter.

"What faith", I hear you ask? Well, there's always the faith he's had in God since his teenage years. Does that suffice?

              You.

              I like you.

              You made my day.

You get my love and admiration.

Zdrastfuytie, Aleksandra! So nice to meet someone who takes the time to introduce herself instead of melting down since the get-go.

However, we have an introduction forum for that (you can create a thread there).

Oh sunshine, we are not interfering with anybody's happiness! To the contrary, we are so concerned about the eternal happiness, or doom, awaiting each and every person after their death, that we are trying our best to convince them to choose the eternal happiness!

This is exactly what Jesus tells our children to do! You've been here for an hour and you're already learning. I'm seeing much more hope in you now!

"Nitpicking and conjecture" are what OTHERS do with the Bible!

They peer at their preferred "nits" namely words like "love" and "peace" and pull those out and parade them as though they are the sum total of God's message to humanity. They then apply the art of conjecture to random verses through the Bible and come up with teachings and tenets that are not in line with what people need to know to obtain salvation.

The Catholic church is especially guilty of that last offense. Throughout the centuries some Pope or other would issue a Papal Bull (aptly named if the word "poo" were added as a suffix) declaring something stupid and unbiblical like "children who die before a certain age of accountability get a free get-out-of-hell pass". There really is no verse that says this. And there are a lot of verses that give strong indication of pretty much the opposite teaching. But people will take the tiniest fragment of a verse and conjecture an entire tenet out of it.

Also, I don't see how your father can be "heavily into Christianity" if the Bible that he apparently uses has 65 to 80% of its pages ripped out. The version that he reads might have enough pages left to make a paper airplane. It's light enough to sail on the air but will burn up pretty quickly when it comes into contact with God's fiery judgement.

So, Jesus tells our children to... What am I seeing here? Revoke the feeling of happiness, or hate your parents? You've highlighted "hate you", but isn't Jesus supposed to be forgiving?

Also, I'm not exactly interfering with happiness. You have your beliefs, that is fine. But refer to the title of the thread. "Overwatch: Overdue for a ban!"

I came to defend something that I, and many others, love. I don't want a religious war, I just want people to know that it isn't that bad.

All I've had so far are two infractions and people telling me they want to save me.

Sorry, but I don't want saving. Save yourselves though, and live as good a life as possible. Even though I may not believe, I still pray that you will be happy. Peace, my good fellows, even if you do hate me by now

                            Darling,

Is Jesus "supposed" to be something? He's God, for God's sake! He decides what we're supposed to be and how to behave. You've turned it upside down. God does not have to follow our preferences. In fact, He strongly states that it is not so. (Beware: the next verse is so powerful that quite a few people have changed their whole world view based on it. Are you ready for that?)

                            Exodus 3:14
And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.

Jesus can forgive quite a few things but all everything. He follows His rules, also.

                            Matthew 12:31
Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.

Those who fail to listen to His call, Repent and obey Him to get His forgiveness (and there are many of those) will feel the Wrath of Jesus in the very near Future. I do not say this out of "hate" but out of genuine concern about your Eternal Deposit Place.

                            Revelation 19:21
And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse [i.e., Jesus Christ], which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.

Well that depends. Jesus forgives almost everything... except for blasphemy against the Holy Ghost:

Luke 12:10 And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven.

However, forgiveness doesn't just appear - you have to repent first:

2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Therefore, if people like Hitler and Stalin repented one minute before their death - we will meet them in Heaven, isn't that exciting?!

Also, I'm not exactly interfering with happiness. You have your beliefs, that is fine. But refer to the title of the thread. "Overwatch: Overdue for a ban!"

So it's OK for you to attack our beliefs, but it is not OK for us to tell you that your beliefs are wrong?

Do you see something wrong with that approach? Nothing?

Please, don't waste your time, God doesn't listen to sinners' prayers:

John 9:31 Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.

Oh, we don't hate you, dear. God does:

Nahum 2:2 God is jealous, and the Lord revengeth; the Lord revengeth, and is furious; the Lord will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for his enemies.
