1. Green Day has been around since 1987. Not exactly new.

Considering that the world is as much as 6,000 years old, i would say that a 26 year old band is pretty new.

You really should read it sometime. It's a hell of a book.

Ok, give me one example of someone who hasn't sinned?

Also, I am not Catholic. I get my information from the bible, and a number of respected pastors and commentators.

Furthermore, I really don't think they glorify rape, more glorify themselves. They aren't really wonderful people, but they're pretty funny live. God still doesn't hate me for listening to them mate.

*sigh* No one is claiming that the True Christians™ never sinned. They did, in the PAST (the PAST is what Romans 3:23 refers to). Now (in the PRESENT), they have accepted Christ, been forgiven, and had their sins washed from them by the Blood of the Lamb, and so are NOW sin-free (as 1 John 3:6 attests).

Christianity is really easy to understand. If it wasn't, do you think these people would get it?

Okay so i found this page. I have to say im absolutly horrified by both sides of the arguement. First off Green Day aren't devil warshipers. I believe they aren't I'm not them so i don't know. No one does but them. And also the people against them i don't quite understand why you're bashing them when they've done nothing to you. Can someone please resonably explain exactly what is wrong with rock music? I personally love rock'n'roll. I know several chatholics/christians/all other religions do. So please someone calmly explain to me exactly what is the big deal? I don't understand.

First of, ring kissing wafer munching catholics are NOT Christians, stop insulting us. Secondly, I don't hear the Green Days singing or praising Jesus and they have mocked George Bush on more than one occasion. They also curse (Colossians 3:8) and talk of masturbation (1 Corinthians 6:18).

They wear make up (1 Corinthians 6:9-10) and have tattoo's (Leviticus 19:28).

This is the name a few things that violate God's law. In short, they are going to hell.

I don't claim to be an expert on The Greendays, but I've heard a few of their more mainstream "songs" in pubic places like theater lobbies and grocery stores. As I was on my way to complain to the management of these establishments and take my business elsewhere, I heard a few of their lyrics. Did you know in one of these Devil praising songs the lead singer spews, "...I went to a whore"...the Bible is clearly against this if nothing else. 1 Corinthians 6:9

This demented, child-damning cult also has a Satan praise anthem called, "American Idiot". I thought this would be a song about the foolish, so-called Americans that voted the Obamanation into office...twice!! However, it's more of an insulting song, with the lead singer pontificating that he would prefer to be a "faggot", a useful term in describing one of those abominable homers rather than a "redneck", a derogatory slur used to marginalize some of the best Americans that I've ever met.

In conclusion, you would be better off to study your Bible instead of these hard core metal rocker-boys...it just might save your soul.

That is a very encouraging post Mr OfVirtue is it me or has your avatar changed slightly it could be me I've been in the garden planting wallflowers* and just come back inside.



But the thing which really irks me, yes even more than countercultural nihilistic retarded types who at least have chosen that and don't care what I think, is this desire for everyone else to think such a choice is acceptable or even "cool" when the very choice itself is intended to confront and nauseate (think Sid Vicious for example). O they're punk don't you know they so cool when the essence of punk is to not be cool.

American Idiot is a great example of that. I won't post the lyrics (but have read them). And that's the GREAT BIG difference.
