I realize this may be futile in doing this, but I feel it is needed to be said. Firstly i apologize for not following your forums rules and introducing myself in the 'Introductions' section.
Secondly I am not here to be offensive towards your religion at all. I myself am a devout 17 year old, girl who follows the Protestant Christian religion hailing from Wales, UK.
I was sent this post by a friend of mine from church and she is quite appalled by its contents. And in truth as am I. In my spare time i play Minecraft, And as i would see your point of view, In reality this is not so. Being on the internet ofcourse you would see pornography of any nature, It just happens. some peoples minds are just sick and twisted. But i don't know anyone personally who actually draws such things.
This game isn't defying the Lords ways, It is simply a creative outlet in which you survive in a world randomly generated. The reason why the pigs are so blockey is due to the fact that this game was at first intended to be a university project. They didn't have the time or resources to create Gods image unfortunately. But with the low quality graphics and the simple shapes, this allows children to enjoy the game on a more simple level. Do you know this game has been used to re build Villages, towns and areas of cities? It's used in a project to get children and young adults to have a say in what their towns (etc.) need as a necessity for them, in order for them to go out and play outside rather than sit at home on the Xbox or Playstation or Computer.

I also notice that a few of you say that God gave us these brains to think freely and spread his word.
Was it not God who told Adam and Eve not to eat from the tree? And yet Satan disguised himself as the snake to encourage Eve to eat the fruit and we thus gained free knowledge and will?
I also notice that it is mentioned you are to follow the bible 'To the letter' so to speak. And yet,
do you beat your wife and Children?
Do you keep slaves in your back garden?

People chose what to believe from the bible, It is so badly translated these days that everyone and their mothers could be going to hell.

I realize i could get numerous amounts of abuse back at me, But in all honesty - This is from a 17 year old girl, which in your country isn't even considered an adult. Isn't it more wise to simply spread the love of God and his teachings in a kind way, Rather than force your ways down other peoples throats? It's things like this that make people steer away from Christianity as a whole.

None of that was baseless accusations, I did infact take the time to read the forum rules and such previously given out by a member in your forums. And in all fairness i agree with the rules, this is an outlet for people of your religion and beliefs and I can fully respect that.

What I don't understand is the way you keep saying 'your religion'. You are Christian, we are Christian. I can only conclude that there are some parts of the words of Jesus that you object to and refuse to acknowledge.

Which parts of what Jesus gave us do you refuse to accept?

And your point about beating wives is well taken: I have never beaten her. But I have physically disciplined her as the Bible decrees. She left me and I was sad but I know that she will burn in Hell as Jesus commands.

They are all still pure, none of us have had sex before marriage. To you our community may be sickening (This assumption is only based on reading previous threads) or Blasphemy, but to us, We have accepted our sins and confessed to the Lord.
In the Baptist way of life we may be damned to hell, but in our way of life we listen to Gods teachings and we share with each other, we share the Lords name and love within our town and to anyone who needs it.
I read the rules and such previously and noticed someone mentioned the specifics of being in our Religion, that a child that comes from a single parent can not enter the Lords church, and yet I frequent the church doors every Sunday morning into Afternoon, and Monday evening for our local Youth Group.

Video games are really going downhill. When I was a kid, video games did what they do best: trying to imitate big-budget, small-brain hollywood movies.

Now there's all this "indie", "community content", and "sandbox"....

"User generated content" is just a politically-correct way of "giving the tools of production to the masses" - the definition of SOCIALISM!

And "sandbox" or "nonlinear" are just polite ways of saying "no Gods, no masters", an anarchist slogan. They're setting up a generation to become socialist anarchists!

Game developers create worlds, comparable to how God created The World. Kids who grow up in virtual worlds will learn based on virtual reality, not God's reality.

God created a world were people need to be told what to do, and be given just enough power to do what they are told and no more. God created a world with boundaries, where you must follow a straight and narrow path. Video games should reflect this.

I'm not exactly sure you know what Socialism is, you marauding fool.

Socialism is an economic philosophy whereby what you create belongs to the state and everyone so that all may benefit. Minecraft has nothing to do with this; unless you mean the idea of free-ware and open-source, in which nobody is forcing anybody and it's just people sharing and creating in an artistic environment. I haven't played minecrafter yet so is it a simulated miners' game like farmville where I can dig for gold or heavy metals? Or is it more of an action game like dig-dug? I can't imagine that there's any reason to play the game other than to get addicted and start sending your money to Mindcraft or whatever.

Minecraft is simply digital legos. You go into a world (online or offline, you need to have the IP Address of a server if you want to be online) and you punch trees for wood, use that to make tools to gather more blocks to make more tools to make more blocks to make a home and a farm and whatever you want. It's a game of pure imagination where you just have fun. Instead of plastic (and expensive) blocks, you have a digital landscape. Also it is worth noting you only buy Minecraft once, then you don't pay for anything passed that.

Where in the Bible does it say that? You know that "lie" does not mean the same thing as the word "lay" correct? "Lie" means to not tell the truth, whereas the word you are confusing it for, "lay" means to be prostrate. Perhaps you have mis-interpreted it as you want it to be; or did you read the original untranslated texts in the Vatican? You are aware that the Lord our God doesn't have any problem with homosexuals. His only problem with them are people who have 'badges' for punching them. Does that mean you hit them? How about women? It took me exactly three minutes on Google to find the Latin version (http://www.sacredbible.org/studybibl..._Leviticus.htm).

Here is the verse in question:

Cum masculo non commiscearis coitu femineo, quia abominatio est.

Rough literal translation:

With a man, do not unite/combine/produce female sexual act, it is an abomination.

Sorry for my crude Latin translation (I only had it two years in high school ages ago), but you get the picture.

Also, here you can compare this verse in many other English translations.

There is no doubt what God meant in this verse.
