Exodus 20:4
Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

Is this difficult to understand? Forget the word 'worship' for a moment and read the verse. An image of Mary, baby Jesus or grown up Jesus is clearly an image 'that is in Heaven above' and hence contrary to what God instructs - irrespective of what your friends say. Cathlick churches are full of them, they are disobeying God's commands by having them made and displayed.

Exodus 25:18 - "And you shall make two cherubim of gold, make them of hammered work at the two ends of the mercy seat."

The context of the "Thou shall not make a graven image" passages is dealing with worship of false things. Exodus 20:4 states that no one is to make an image of what is in heaven so that you may not worship them or bow down to them (20:5). This is reiterated in Leviticus 26:1. The Deuteronomy passages, contextually, are dealing with the same thing: an admonition against worshipping a false image. God does not want people bowing down before idols and worshiping false gods.
The instruction by God to make cherubim, which are angels in heaven, is not for the purpose of worship at all. Instead, it is a representation of the heavenly realm where God dwells and the angels are about the throne )1Samuel 4:4; Hebrews 9:5). The Cherubim were placed on the Ark of the Covenant, in the Holy of Holies in the temple (2 Chron. 3:10).

The catholics don't worship their statues.

Read my post. I gave him a Scripture, and he claimed it was referring to something completely else. I read it as it was stated. His version of the Scripture, takes away from what Jesus did. If you read as it is said (I quoted the Scripture), it adds to what Jesus did.

I haven't been spoon fed anything. My leaders don't have "LET US DO YOUR THINKING FOR YOU." We are encouraged to thing for ourselves, and read the Bible. Which I do, almost twice a year. I read on average 15 chapters a day. I love the Bible. I'm just glad that it shows a God that you don't represent. The God of the Bible is much niver than you guys.


Also, the KJV isn't the most accurate English translation, so don't refer to it as such. Christian Scholars agree, almost unanimously, the the New Jerusalem Version is.

Now I know, from your history, that none of my points will be addressed, so have fun. Proverbs warns me not to argue with fools. So I will leave now. I have been argueing with fools this morning, and have nothing to show for it. So good buy fools. I won't be returning her.

Friend, I have been sitting here quietly, watching this unfold. You keep telling people what YOU think God is saying. Friend, God wrote the Bible plain and simple, so even the feeblest of minds could follow His guidance. No where in the Bible does it say to 'wing it more or less'. The Bible is a large book, with very simple yet detailed instructions. Tell me Friend, when did God tell you that you know the meaning of the Bible better than Him?

Were do you get off saying we hate the unsaved scum of the world friend? Landover is out in front in the fight to reclaim as many souls as possible for Jesus, all options are on the table when it comes to saving people from Hell. If it takes skinning the flesh off a leg of a sinner and tubing lemon juice into the wound to help them repent we TRUE Christians are willing to do it!

Show me any other Church that is willing to go that far for the sake of their fellow man.
