Hi There,
I am a born again Christian. I’m part of a very good church in South Africa, where on a weekly basis we see amazing miracles and other works of God. And I’m also a hardcore gamer. I haven’t come here to defend Diablo, as I won’t touch the game. I think the game is borderline on way too many areas, and we’re warned to avoid the appearance of evil, not just evil, so either way I am staying away from it.
The reason why I am here, is to let you know that you have become the laughing stock of the internet through this thread, and are an embarrassment to all other Christians. After guys I know (the ones that pointed me to here) have read this, they have hardened their hearts toward Christianity even more, and now it will be even harder to win them to the Kingdom. This is doing the exact opposite of what the great Commission tells us to do.
If you’re going to do something, research it properly. I will point out the big mistakes you made in the opening post for this thread.


Apparently Blizzard, makers of such filthy games like World of Warcraft, Starcraft II and Oblivion.
Blizzard did not make Obliviion. They were not even slightly involved in a single aspect of the game.
have a horrible series of games glorifying Satan called "Diablo".
The game does not glorify Satan. Even in the game Satan is evil, and it is your job to kill him.
Apparently there are two sequels, or "clones" as gamers call them, of this game, the most recent having been released in 2009.
There are two sequels, but they are not what is being referenced to as clones. Clones are referring to games that are very similar to Diablo with regards to its gameplay mechanics and not regards to the objectives of the game. They refer to games like Titan’s Quest, Torchlight and other similar games. The First Diablo was released in 1996, its expansion in 1997, and Diablo 2 in 1998. Diablo 3 has just come out now, in 2012. Not sure what the most recent game being released in 2009 she is referring to. The so called ‘clones’ have been coming out, at least 1 almost every year. But in none of the ‘clones’ do you try kill Satan. This is a theme unique to Diablo. The other games also don’t glorify the Devil.
Here is just a short list of the horrible things this game includes...
I will comment on each of these after each point as a new point.

• Upon starting the game up, the player is asked to "role-play" as one of three characters: the Destroyer, a tatooed meathead obviously inspired by a member of the BDSM-sodomite community known as a "power top bear"; the Vanquisher, a scantily-clad harlot who gains "levels" by soliciting people for s*x and fornicating with them; and, worst of all, the Scientist, a demon-summoning wizard who builds sex-robots and espouses Darwinian propaganda!
• WRONG WRONG WRONG. Upon starting in the original Diablo, your three classes were Warrior, Rogue and Sorcerer. Neither of the classes in Diablo 1, or any of the other Diablo games, can have sex, create sex-robots, or do any other sexual deeds. They can’t run around naked or do anything similar to that. They can fight. And they fight demons and other creatures. They do not glorify any sin, except maybe killing, and they do that by killing demons.
• After choosing to role-play as one of these three characters, the player is then required to choose an "animal partner", which in the context of this game is probably either used as a sacrificial offering to demons or for the player to partake in simulated bestiality with.
• First of all, you don’t choose an “animal partner” in Diablo. Second of all, the player never makes sacrifices, and it is not possible to simulate bestiality in the game. Some of the cultists who are your enemies that you can kill, however, do sacrifices to demons and Satan, but then again, they’re the enemies, and you have to kill them.
• All of the characters are required to use witchcraft and sorcery by purchasing "spells" from some sinister cabal. The player is also NOT allowed to use prayer or faith in the Lord to overcome obstacles!
• The reason the player cannot use prayer of faith in the Lord is because the game does not take place in our world. It takes place in a world where there isn’t a loving and caring Father God. You do not have to purchase “spells”, but if you do play a class that does their damage through spells, then yes, the player can use spells. This is one of the issues that you have almost got right. The player doesn’t get their power to do the spells from any demons or Satan, however.
• The player is constantly encouraged to murder people, steal their possessions, and then sell them or pay a wizard to "enchant" them to become stronger, implying that a life of thievery, murder and Satanism is a valid career option.
• This one made me laugh. You are never encouraged to murder people. Only enemies. Just like The Old Testament is full of murdering and plundering in the name of God (the Bible has some horrific stories just in Genesis alone), you do it in the game due to the war you are in against the demons and devils. Its called war and its ok. You can, however, enchant weapons as stated. And I’m not slating the Bible, I love the Bible and am a devout Christian. You just can’t deny the Bible has some awesome (and bloody) wars.
• The game is infinitely long! It never ends! It's a calculated attempt by Blizzard into forcing people into Diablo-addiction and a life-time of servitude to Satan!
• The game is not infinitely long. It does have an end. It ends when you kill Satan. Satan is shown as bad and the source of evil, and you have to stop him.
• The game includes detailed instructions for your character to consult with spirits and summon skeletons. This, of course, is specifically forbidden by Deuteronomy 18:10-12!
• Yes and no. You can summon skeletons (there are 2 accounts in the Bible of skeletons coming out their graves and walking around, this was for free), and you can talk to spirits. But you’re not given detailed instructions to do so. You get a spell that is called “Summon Skeletons,” and when you click on it, the skeletons are summoned.

• The main plot of the game is to kill Satan. In Torchlight, however, the first major quest is to sabotage a mine, but in the context of the story in Torchlight, you are doing a good thing. Just like Jesus threw the traders and tax collectors out the temple.

• Finally, the game encourages repetitive mouse-clicking and movement, which can lead young women into a repetitive stimulation of her lady-bits. Blizzards Entertainment wants to train young ladies to m*sturbate!
• This is far out. Sorry, but this is the stupidest statement here, and I do not understand how you can even begin to come up with something like this. The game uses mouse clicks, because you click on things. Just like Windows and Mac users use mouse clicks to open documents. You clicked your mouse multiple times to get to this website. Are you going to accuse this website of training young ladies to masturbate as well now? This point is absolutely absurd.

As Christians, we know that whatever a person does, it should be done for the glory of God.
This is true. However, what you have just done here, is post mostly lies, which is against God, and therefore, you have done the opposite of glorify God. You have also embarrassed Christians like I stated earlier, and made it harder for us to win people for the Kingdom.
Does playing a game which promotes bestiality, Satan-worship, prostitution and science sound like something that can possibly be used to glorify God? Of course not!! That's why we True Christians™ need to unite and make sure that Diablo 3 gets BANNED and these game programmers can't make any more children into servants of Satan!
The game does not propmote bestiality (it is not mentioned and not possible in the game), Satan-Worship (it promotes Satan killing), prostitution (not possible in the game either) and definitely not science (it is a fantasy game with no science at all). The game does not glorify God, however, even slightly.
And promoting Science isn’t bad. God created Science. Science reveals the greatness of our God. Through Science we have been able to prove God, and with Science I have managed to convert a great amount of people to Christianity. Don’t close off Science if you don’t understand it. Science is also what disproves evolution. Some might teach evolution as truth, and back it up with Science, but the Science they use doesn’t disprove Creation, and we have enough Science to disprove evolution.

This is not a screenshot of Diablo, but of Torchlight. Furthermore, it has been modified. You can’t run around in Torchlight naked. It is a person, with no connection to the game makers, making a mod to do that. Accusing the game based on this screenshot would be the same as saying the Bible is a porno because someone else made a porn movie about a story from the Bible. You cannot use this screenshot against the game.

I would like to state again, I don’t approve of the game. I do think Diablo should be avoided, but you are doing it the wrong way. Don’t post lies next time, it helps no one, and only makes Christians look bad.

I'm from South Africa. I'm a Christian Christian. Even though I'm not Catholic, there is nothing wrong with Catholics, they are still Christians and I'll still see them in Heaven.

My favourite scripture is "This is what the LORD Almighty says: 'If you will walk in my ways and keep my requirements, then you will govern my house and have charge of my courts, and I will give you a place among these standing here.'" Its found in Zechariah. I want to be one of those standing there.

I believe the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand, like the Bible says. I love my ministering Angels, talk to Jesus on a daily basis, visit God occasionaly, and love the way He heals blind eyes, opens deaf ears, grows out legs and brings life (which we see often).

I believe I will go on to do some pretty amazing things that are greater than what Jesus did (because Jesus said we could), and look forward to Jesus using me every day.

My church is part of the COTN group of churches here in South Afirica.

Pardon me Sir, Catholics worship graven images in direct contravention of God's commandments (in particular the Second Commandment). As such they are Idolaters and will roast in Hell.

Is this difficult to understand? Forget the word 'worship' for a moment and read the verse. An image of Mary, baby Jesus or grown up Jesus is clearly an image 'that is in Heaven above' and hence contrary to what God instructs - irrespective of what your friends say. Cathlick churches are full of them, they are disobeying God's commands by having them made and displayed.

On another subject - I am really filled with God's love that you have witnessed the resurrection of a child who has been dead for 4 weeks!! Thats even better than Jesus did with Lazarus and so you may indeed be right about the 'greater works' argument! Tell us about it, it is a Godly story which you must share with us True Christians. Glory!!
