  • Christians ruin perfectly good pirate movies.

I went to see Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides to enjoy a rollicking fun, swashbuckling, goofy pirate movie and for the most part got it. Until each and every moment a wet rag Christian named Phillip (played by Sam Claflin) showed up and brought the film to a screeching halt.
The most interesting thing he did was eventually, and chastely, hook up with a mermaid. Oh, did that mermaid ever end up with a dead fish.
Christians, please keep Christians out of our pirate movies and we won't start insisting on putting pirates into your Christian movies.
    Thank you.

There's no such thing as a "good pirate movie" unless all the pirates are killed and sent to hell to pay for their sins. And a movie theater is no place for an unaccompanied young lady. People will think you're a whore!

Callisto, why did you name yourself after one of the moons 'discovered' by Galileo? Do you really hate Jesus that much?

That movie is fake. Do you think they had cameras at that times? And the pirates were never in the caribik they sailed around scandinavia and denmark.

Pirate movies are bad - all of them. So when a Christian shows up in one of these films, you should thank God for making it slightly better.

Yep, pirates and homos are pretty much synonymous! There is a reason the term "butt pirate" exists.
Isaiah 12:21 (KJV) -- Prepare slaughter for his children for the iniquity of their fathers

Ezekiel 9:6 (KJV) -- Slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women

Wow! I understand why my atheist friend (I do not tend to judge as I have known him for such a long time) insisted that we Christians never look into facts, we've judged someone without really considering it truly. And I do not want such sinful words such as 'homo' or homosexual to just be thrown around.

Also I think we all realise that videocameras have been a quite recent creation so that naturally the film does not consist of real life events. And why is a lady a whore for going to a cinema on her own? Surely it is better than her to go with a 'boyfriend'? If thats a whore then I wonder what you call those ladies who 'sell themselves' on the streets.

Whores. Like there are Saved and Unsaved with nothing in between, there are True Christian(tm) Ladies, and then there are whores.

Re: Christians ruin perfectly good pirate movies.

Early pirates were mooselimbs and we had to send the Godly Christian Marines to kill them – not too much difference from the Somali pirates of today.

The irony perhaps is that Islam did in fact play a very important role in the early stages of the development of the United States - Islam was directly responsible for the development of the United States Navy and for the concepts that allowed for its deployment far from our coasts. The American Navy is not a river navy or coastal defense force; it is a global tool of American power whose origins can be traced directly back to an earlier American-Islam confrontation. After the American Revolution, pirates from the Barbary states (Algiers, Morcoco) attacked American shipping off the coast of North Africa in the Mediterranean and took the crews. This piracy against American shipping started in 1784 and finally ended in 1815. The Islamic rulers of these Barbary States demanded payment of tribute from the new country and it was paid, and paid. President Jefferson sent a naval force against the pirates in 1803-05. The Marine Corps were also sent in and after a long overland march, took the city of Tripoli in 1805 (thus "to the shores of Tripoli" in the Marine Corps hymn). Is the Somali piracy of today related to the Barbary pirates of the early 19th century? When then Ambassadors Thomas Jefferson and John Adams met with the Ambassador from Tripoli in 1785, to reach a solution to the attacks against American shipping and crews they were dragged into a dark world in which we are still today.

"When they inquired by what right the Barbary states preyed upon American shipping, enslaving both crews and passengers, America’s two foremost envoys were informed that “it was written in the Koran, that all Nations who should not have acknowledged their authority were sinners, that it was their right and duty to make war upon whoever they could find and to make Slaves of all they could take as prisoners, and that every Mussulman who should be slain in battle was sure to go to Paradise.”

Those Who Ignore History Are Condemned – Somali Piracy in Context by D.L. Adams On April 6 in an address to the parliament of Turkey, US President Obama said that the relationship between the…

The reason Christians enforce them selves on us in cool pirate movies is because that know know one would ever go to see two or three hours of boring bible shit, therefore they go into cool movies purely for our attention
